I play piano, drink good beer, and try to make my kids laugh. Sometimes all at the same time. Based in the midwest, but PNW forever.
This is sweet, but as a dad it's also my duty to inform the children there is a more cost effective tape option thst is better on painted surfaces.

Welp. That one’s gonna hurt for a while.

Love love love this team, though. Bring back Naylor and let’s run this shit back.

Poutine his head in the way of a double play throw.

For those who think academia is the pinnacle of unspoken rules and passive-aggressive power plays, may I invite you to a morning lap swim at the public pool?

In other news, the Oregon Bach Festival has announced an All PDQ Bach festival going forward. Yes, the quality and respectability will plummet, but think of the new audiences!

What is it with Lyft airport rides before and after piano conferences? In the past 2 years I've stepped into Cleveland Browns football, Sean Hannity, and now *aggressively* preachy Christian radio. In every case played at a volume level damaging to human ears.

Is this more common than I realize?

Finally finished @jasonkirk.fyi Hell is a World Without You during my own little beach fest this week. A little too close to home when I started it last year, but so glad I picked it up and gave it a second try. Terrific. Thanks for a hell of a story Jason!

If you went to church today and your pastor was gleefully riffing a last minute sermon on the rapture, it's totally fine to try a different church next week. Like, there's probably another one right down the street.

Prepping a world premiere that's actually a large ensemble transcription is kind of like accompanying a concerto. Except instead of feeling relaxed about leaving a bunch of shit out, you feel annoyed at having to do the editing yourself. Or so I’ve heard from others.

Happy opening day to all who celebrate. Go Mariners!
that major league baseball isn't called "major league baseballs" is a perpetuation of the one-baseball myth, one easily dispelled in the age of streaming. one can now simultaneously watch two games, in different cities, played with different baseballs. mlb does not use one ball and hasn't since 1997

This is going to get worse, not better. Never underestimate the American public’s thirst for performative cruelty towards The Other: defendants, foreigners, anyone they’ve been conditioned to see as less than human. We’re the country that made lynchings into picnics.

Young men don't open bank accounts. They are too expensive. They take their hard earned money down to The Shops at the Creeks and invest in the latest fashions from Dan Flashes, where the patterns are complicated and the value keeps going up.
Young men don't open bank accounts. They are too expensive. They download coin base or Robinhood app and buy crypto. That's their savings

If one party pushes that number higher. They vote for em. Gensler/Biden caused those savings to go down. The demo with the biggest change was young men
This is legit the dumbest thing I've ever seen him say
