I sat behind Fatboy Slim at the school dance show. Didn't say a word.
Please quote this with the time you didn’t interact with someone famous - eg one time I was in Cardiff the same weekend as Willem Dafoe (but I didn’t see him or even know he was there until he appeared on the telly later)
Please quote this with your major interactions with massive celebrities. eg “I was married to the pope for fifteen years”

My mum is in hospital, and will be there for the foreseeable future. The staff are putting on a Christmas lunch for spouses/partners too, so my dad can go along.

Merry Christmas to them.

They have come from all over the world to care for our loved ones, and they deserve to be valued.

BBC Radio 6 Music’s small boat updates in every news segment are a serious problem here
Immigration salience has less to do with aggregate Immigration numbers than
- visibility of boats & asylum > visas
- general vibes about integration
- elite cues from media & political discourse in shaping public perceptions

This is more true when immigration is falling then when it is rising

I don’t think “Reform and the Greens are the same actually” is ever going to fly. Voters aren’t fools.
Farage and Polanski have something in common. They are both wrong about Britain.

I've never seen fear of the other stated so clearly than I have seen it in Kemi Badenoch. It's more than I've seen in Patel or Braverman, even Farage. The way she leans into the staple untruths that uphold white supremacy is breathtaking

On Facebook, this advert for Meta’s stalking hardware features an X at the top right, commonly understood to mean “close this”, that simply does nothing at all.

My mum’s fallen down the stairs and fractured both her hips but I can’t visit her in hospital because they’ve put her in a corridor and there’s simply no room

interesting choice to project "LET THEM BE KIDS" onto the Sydney Harbour Bridge as part of the celebrations of the teen social media ban

It's not a line that came from Albanese or the government — it's the name of News Corp's campaign for the ban.

Logged into X for the first time for months, to finish the job of deleting everything I’d ever posted, and holy hell that place is nuts. Literally another dimension.

This is the thing. If *everyone* serious leaves X - governments, media, NGOs, whatever - then it becomes possible to dismiss *all* X content as the equivalent of 4Chan
Pretty crazy that nearly all of the EU Commission is still on X even as Elon Musk is literally talking about destroying the EU.

You can leave X. It's really not that difficult.
So what's the outcome?

2️⃣5️⃣ of the 27 Commissioners have posted in the last week

2️⃣4️⃣ of the 27 generally post every week (Albuquerque has never been on X, Ribera is sporadic, McGrath has somehow stopped)

0️⃣ have stopped as a result of what Twitter has become since the Musk takeover

Hate-watching tonight’s Question Time and it’s immediately doomed by its framing, the audience and their questions.

Watching BBC news and they’re running excited reports of deportations with clapping from that ghoul Mike Tapp and honestly fuck the BBC, and OFCOM while we’re at it.

A lot of people posting mansions that they’re going to buy with tomorrow’s Euromillions win are going to be very disappointed when I win it.
