1/ Defending trans people seems to be a fad in a very small echo-chamber
and
2/ Trans people are under attack in terms of large scale discourse that most people see

I feel like, once upon a time, I could have failed on my merits. I just wouldn't have been good enough. It's galling to live in a time when I'm being out-competed by people whose only talent is behaving like an attention-seeking cunt.

What you can do, when a piece of art is good, is say: "cool, I like that". What you don't have to do is turn it into a terrible movie, or even an alright movie. You can just enjoy it for what it is and not adapt it into any other medium. I can't emphasise this enough: things don't need to be adapted
