I expect most people, particularly those in the higher social strata, will hold on to the old conventional wisdom about the New York Times for a very long time.

Tthis is exactly why I'm fairly confident the downward trajectory will continue until it's unmistakeable.

Once again, if you abide Catholic dogma then the Pope is the divine instrument of God on Earth. Deny that and you deny the faith.

If instead you just like to use all the trappings of Catholicism to oppress and rob a nation, the Pope is a glaring impediment to your consolidation of power.
The U.S. bishops defended migrant families. Tom Homan snapped. Nan Hayworth called Pope Leo a “tool of our enemies.” Tim Burchett accused the church of getting rich off of sex trafficking.

Matt Walsh, Lara Logan, and the rest joined in. This is what MAGA anti-Catholicism looks like.
“Pope Leo Is a Tool of Our Enemies”: Homan Leads MAGA Attacks as Hayworth, Others Pile On
It’s the latest MAGA attack on Pope Leo’s pro-immigrant stance. Disgraced border chief Tom Homan — caught taking a $50,000 bribe in a Cava takeout bag — led the charge against Leo and the bishops.

A criminal record means you've already done your time and paid your debt. If we make it a brand, we only give the people trying to hurt us another weapon.
Please stop using language that suggests that people with criminal records are appropriate targets for this administration's violence. One in three adults has a criminal record. Stop playing sacrifice games with fascists. Stop surrendering entire categories of people in your own mind.

The dot-com bubble burst was March '00 to October '02 and it was devastating, hitting just about everything. Yes, some geopolitical was involved. Still. This from a former employer of mine (that I trust): "[some say] this bubble is 17 times the size of dot-com's bubble." www.fool.com/ext-content/...

It is a staple mantra in the games industry, "Our pay for [X] is comparable to the industry's average wages," to which I would reply, "when you're raking in record profits, it's pretty lame to justify substandard pay with, 'that's what everyone else does.'"
Even on projects that don’t feature AI, it’s often difficult to justify how little voice actors get paid for work on projects that sell in the millions

So it’s fascinating to see folks say “they were compensated fairly” repeatedly on this occasion where we don’t even have the voice actors credited.
The argument I'm hearing about it is "the voice actors got paid for it so it's all good"

We don't know how much they got paid, or if they get royalties every time those lines get used.

It's a slippery slope being brushed off because "game good"

if Arc Raiders had plagiarized art, would it matter?

The reason why flight disruptions were the breaking point for Democrats is that they need to not be in DC as much as possible.

They need to go home. They need to fundraise. They need to not do their job.

Trump and the GOP have now learned that next time, they should start with flight disruptions.

Sanders: Let’s be clear… If this vote succeeds, over 20 million Americans are going to see at least a doubling in their premiums… if resolution is passed tonight, we are on a path way to throw 15 million Americans off of medicaid and the affordable care act, 15 million.

So Democrats get:

1. A CR that will prevent the GOP from facing the wrath of Americans for a shutdown over the holidays

2. A coupon for one (1) meaningless ACA vote that will fail

3. An end to the illegal RIF/SNAP moves that are already before the courts

Those all seem like wins for the GOP.

Back in 2017, I realized the Republican claim of "less spending, fewer taxes, smaller government" was a lie.

They spend the same amount of tax dollars as Democrats: they only choose differently who to collect it from & who gets to be the recipient.

And they LOVE wasting money on war & bailouts. 🧵
