One of the fundamentals of computer science is "Garbage In, Garbage Out". I learned this as a child, learning to program, over 40 years ago.

You cannot put bad data in, and get good data out.

Stories like this are why my bio contains a statement of support for trans kids. They need to be able to believe that there are people out there who want them to live their truth, and their own brains are constantly fighting against letting them know that.

Thinking about the early closeted days as a teenager and a memory I hadn't thought about for ages popped in my head.

As a teen I was DEEP in the Experimentation->Shame->Repression->Repeat cycle that lasted until I came out at 28 and one way I experimented was sneaking make up from my stepmother

A lotta folks have been warning for YEARS that govt subsidies encouraging US farmers to invest near-exclusively in two crops (soybeans and corn) could have catastrophic consequences.

Most were thinking climate-change implications (making these crops ungrowable) but here’s a self-inflicted one!

Not only did I have the experience Trey described multiple times in my years on Twitter, I've had it repeatedly since I first got online via dial-up in 1995.

My other most common experience with anti-theists is them doubling down and never, ever admitting they're wrong.

Nah, I'm done. You claimed Trey's original post was a strawman. Two other people explained that we too have experienced what Trey described (thus it's not a strawman).

You insist, in spite of all evidence to the contrary, that Trey (or the thread?) said "all atheists" (neither said that).

[sigh] I *too* have experienced this. Fortunately rare on Bluesky, but the number of anti-theist assholes who had to say their piece in the ~14 years I was on Twitter, when I mentioned being a Christian was something I lost count of.

I felt like 🤯 when I accidentally heard part of the Stephen Miller interview where he was whining about “left wing terrorism” preventing “hardworking ICE agents doing their job”.

Their “job” is kidnapping people based on the colour of their skin & sending them to concentration camps, GoebbelsJr.
