Well, this is a crisis. Twitter / X appears to have implemented a "feature" to edit any image with Grok. Fan artists are freaking out, and I don't blame them. Also seems ripe for abuse to lie.

Seriously: if you were on social media or YouTube saying Superman was "woke" and dumb and too lame and not like how it used when they made REAL MOVIES, you have no standing to whine about Supergirl claiming you care about the integrity of the cinematic Superman. Nope. Sit down, no credibility
There are legitimate criticisms for the apparent creative decisions and the observable marketing for the upcoming Supergirl movie, all of which are blunted by the reactionary crowd that hunted for flimsy reasons to hate on the new Superman. No motivation on my end to associate with that crowd at all

If you're talking about North American anime fandom, and you try to argue that Robotech was not an essential work in its era, you are repeating a fallacy

Criticize the work or HG - we all do. But without Robotech, there is no anime industry or press as we know it, and a greatly diminished fandom.

Researchers envision their vaccine being used as both a treatment and a preventive, and as an approach to treating multiple cancer types. NOTE: This is PRECLINICAL.

GOOD NEWS! Researchers have developed a cancer vaccine that has shown STUNNING results, PREVENTING up to 88% of MULTIPLE aggressive cancers by harnessing dual-pathway nanoparticles that train the immune system to recognize and destroy tumor cells. In some cases, it COMPLETELY prevented metastasis.

This thing somehow only got a fansub and never a DVD release in an era a lot of slop did. I can only assume some manner of arcane license hell is to blame. If that ever changes, I am there

Every time a media merger happens, one word tends to be overused: monopoly.

I tried to explain how the Netflix/Warner Bros deal isn't a pure monopoly, but I don't think it'll get through to some folks.

Also, Disney owns a lot of streaming platforms. Like... a lot.
How would Netflix’s acquisition of Warner Bros./HBO affect competition in the streaming market? Would it amount to a monopoly?
Jeff Harris's answer: The word “monopoly” gets thrown around a lot when it comes to big media deals like this. But here’s the truth: The Netflix/Warner Bros deal is NOT a pure monopoly. According t...

Netflix buying WB terrifies me, but there's a chance they're not full of shit about continuing theatrical and other legacy businesses.
Neo-Paramount is VERY untested and early indications see them veering towards dude-bro crap. They could crash.
WB by itself was over, we need to accept that.

I also believe that Netflix knows that they'll have access to a HUGE library of shows, shorts, and films, and they're not going to put them all online, so if the opportunity to produce and distribute home media is present, they're going to continue doing that with WB.

I think Netflix had been so hesitant to release physical media of their own not because they really didn't want to but because they had no distribution system of their own to do. It's the same reason they were reluctant to release films theatrically. With WB, they'll have a strong distributor.

I think that much like the concerns about film distribution, I don't think Netflix is going to do anything to the home entertainment unit. I'm sure they understand the physical media market, though smaller than it was a decade ago, is still a profitable one. They just didn't have one of their own.
The big concern is Netflix discontinuing all of WB’s home entertainment operations.

Ah never mind, PR makes it clear this is after the linear networks get spun off. So it's the studios that make stuff, Discovery Global still happens with Cartoon Network and CNN and other stuff.
So I'm kinda confused, if Netflix & Warner Bros happens is the planned spinoff split *not* happening? Or will it happen anyway given that this very well may take one or two years before it's even clear they're allowed to do it?

Man... the sequel to KPop Demon Hunters is going to make a mint when Warner Bros releases that theatrically under their banner.

Because you know that's a real possibility now.

And if WBA could develop a traditionally-animated series before then...

I'm open to persuasion otherwise, but honestly: if Disney can just completely own Hulu, the idea that Netflix x Warner Bros is a bridge too far in terms of the streaming business seems kinda absurd to me. Feels like an argument from the ones salty they might not be the ones to get WB

Wanna know who's been amazing sponsoring *and* "rescuing* cartoons since Warner Bros Discovery became a thing in 2022? Netflix. Go look at the record, it's true.

Who grabbed Sesame Street when Max stopped carrying it? Netflix did.

No, I don't think Netflix x WB means family programing on Max.
December 5, 2025 at 7:30 AM
Fun fact, wanna know what's going up on Netflix next week? The West Wing (a WB show).

Now, I agree, I don't think Max will go away. But they also just willfully realigned it to "HBO" branding again. If WB won't make it a flagship, why would Netflix if they buy it?
WB doesn't put WB stuff on their own service. You can't watch Loony Tunes on there now, it's on Tubi. You think Netflix is going to get rid of Max? Why do that when they can make you subscribe to two services?
