I haven't watched season 2, but on reflection my working theory is that the show functions best when it's doing the weird lore stuff centered on Japanese culture and not the sci-fi stuff if only because the SF side leans into that more.
Yeah that's understandable. Felt uncomfortable to me too
I've observed a trend on youtube where a narrator talks you though what goes on in a specific comic story as it goes over panel by panel, basically a plot synopsis with pictures. Now realizing I'm 90% sure it's always an AI voice and not the person with the channel. Meh.

So this is just legitimate ragebait. The context was specifically about expanding the Nintendo IPs and the Nintendo Museum where they can see and use old hardware. Here's the question and answer
I'm not necessarily suggesting Miyamoto is correct in his thinking, but people interpreting this as "games aren't worth preserving" or whatnot is reading significantly more into his words than what was actually said.
Not directly related to this I suppose, but I feel like there are fan panels waiting to happen getting into what binds Captain Harlock and the saga of One Piece together. Both use the motif of the pirate to represent rebellion vs corruption - not just of the state, but I'd argue even the soul itself
Protesters around the world are using the Straw Hat Pirate Jolly Roger as a symbol of freedom. We plan on doing a detailed report on this phenomenon in the coming weeks. In the meanwhile, here is an updating list of countries where the Jolly Roger has appeared:
Y'know, it's not like I'm looking to endorse "nothing is ever my fault" and zero introspection in life, but blaming yourself the most for every negative interaction isn't right either.
"Guardrails for historical figures" won't be enough to keep them out of trouble, or so I hope. When a cartoon does outlandish things with a living person, we know it's a cartoon. Free speech defense is easy. But what about reality-distorting dangerous lies selling things that never happened as real?

There’s a free application, shutup10++, that lets you disable all the shitty windows stuff with a series of checkboxes.
It even tracks if windows rolls anything back between updates and lets you reverse the changes with a click.
I can personally recommend shutup10++ if you need to stick with windows
This is the future of Windows. Microsoft wants to rewrite Windows to turn computers into AI PCs that you talk to. It's now bringing AI features to all Windows 11 PCs today, in a bid to convince you to talk to your PC and let AI control it. Full details 👇 www.theverge.com/news/799768/...

Anecdotal, but Switch 2 has not been sold out in my area for at least three weeks now. Nintendo might've been a bit too aggressive about supplying the rest of the world vs home. If global sales are over 8 million that's around 25% of the market in Japan, & that's with it being hard to get one
Switch 2 has officially sold over 2.2 million units in Japan.

It's still severely supply constrained.
I don't hate Wolverine but cartoons and movies put way too much attention on him. Conditioning us to look at him as the "main character" of X-Men doesn't make sense to me. And I'm not saying it should be Cyclops or someone else either. If anything should be an ensemble thing, it is X-Men.
What's an opinion about X-Men that'll get you sent to jail? Is Jean really interesting or really boring? Should Logan have stayed dead? Do you think a certain x-mens outfit is positively horrendous even though people seem to love it?

The Brood Saga is better than Dark Phoenix imo 🤷

Netflix and AMC are finally getting along. The two (plus Regal and Cinemark) are teaming for a Halloween re-release of 'KPop Demon Hunters,' a sign that the streaming–theatrical chill might be starting to thaw.

A great thing about Struzan's Star Wars book covers was when his artwork continued across to the back cover. Here is an example where the back featured two "Preybird" starfighters, a ship which at the time I don't believe had any fully-rendered high quality artwork of it.

this job listing is just...what is he even asking for?
To be fair...that's pretty much a direct shot at people that dumped on the prequels too much
Gotta say, I think it's hilarious that Robert Kirkman trashes on Superman. Invincible would be nothing at all without him and the DC Universe at large to stand athwart. collider.com/invincible-r...

LRT: James Rolfe / Cinemassacre is still really good precisely *because* each video is the product of effort and generally always about something he cares about, as opposed to being done out of a misguided obligation to churn out "content" and reaction videos even if you have almost nothing to say

It is wild to me that there are people whose entire personality is just... hating YouTubers whose fame peaked in like 2010. There's an entire subreddit dedicated to dogging on James Rolfe for *checks notes* having a family and work/life boundaries. Just spectacularly pathetic.
They were referencing "Busy Street" and "TGWTG", so it's like this dude just woke up this week from a 15-year-long coma.

I'm not joking, this was a blog from Busy Street *IN 2010*. Dude was certainly allowed to not like Channel Awesome, but he & others who followed made it A WHOLE PERSONALITY TRAIT

I get where a lot of it comes from, since box office is the most transparent number we have most of the time. A lot of the other stuff either just isn’t available or isn’t easily accessible.

One of the things that kills me with a lot of the usual analysis is that it's focused solely on box office. It misses so many other elements, from merch to home video and now streaming/digital purchase, but also tax incentives, partnerships, etc etc.

Their opinion is their opinion, whatever, but they’re re-writing history here. TRON was Disney’s highest-grossing live action film in 5 years, a decent hit that made a lot from merchandise and arcades. Home video was also very successful for TRON, and Legacy didn’t flop, it made $400 million.
Pretty confused by how TRON became a big-budget movie franchise. Was it a bit hit when it came out? No. Did it become a big hit on video/TV? Also no. Do people have fond nostalgic memories of it? Eh kinda but not really. Was it secretly great and critically acclaimed? No again
There have been three Tron movies in 43 years and Tron: Legacy made more than twice its budget at the box office. It might be good to at least not dump on a too-rare occasion where Disney actually acts as if it has the resources to take chances on a cult hit
Then in 2010 they made a sequel to TRON and that was a huge flop too, despite being helmed by a director who later became a mega-hitmaker. Why go back for more? It's weird!
The correct answer to all the whiners that couldn't shut up about Yasuke and how historically accurate he was or wasn't was to simply decide "whatever, this is our game and we're going to do whatever the hell he want". Because most of that crowd isn't likely to be pacified anyway
