NEW: Last week, some OBGYNs received a strange survey via email. The email used inflammatory terms like "dismemberment" and "feticide," and the survey website suggested affiliation with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. ACOG tells Autonomy News it sent a cease and desist:
OBGYNs Sent ‘Highly Biased’ Survey By Group That Targeted Abortion Pills
A group of anti-abortion doctors claims it’s researching the “moral and professional complexity” of abortion. Their study raises red flags following other junk science and retractions.

No surprise that the suspect in the assassination of the Minnesota House Democratic leader and her husband and the attempted assassination of a state senator and his wife was also out to get abortion rights supporters.

Hi! I specialize in medication toxicity. All available, real-world data has proven mifepristone is actually even safer than many over the counter medicines.

Mortality rates:

Mifepristone: 0.65/100,000
Penicillin 2/100K
Viagra 4/100K

Pregnancy in the US: 22/100,000 (some states see rates >60/100K)

I’m sick of this regime using antisemitism to justify racist policies. This travel ban is about keeping Black and brown people out which is rooted in racism. It won’t protect Jews—it fuels resentment and puts us in more danger, leading to more violence like what happened in Boulder.
Trump announces travel ban on 12 countries and partial restrictions for 7 others
Trump framed the new restrictions, which primarily target African and Asian countries, as necessary to fortify national security and combat terrorism.

I think we’ve reached a boiling point when it comes to ICE.

Today in Minneapolis, a militarized task force raided the beloved Lake Street taqueria, Las Cuatro Milpas—and the community was not having it.

Agents from ICE, the DEA, FBI, ATF, IRS and HHS rolled up looking like they were ready for war.

2. it isn’t on substack! you aren’t supporting nazis and a shitty platform!

Thorough and excellent reporting by @garnethenderson.com in @autonomynews.co about the Complex Family Planning board certification process - who it excludes, and who is placed at risk by requiring candidates to travel to TX for in-person exams.

And now, doctors say the case list requirements for next year could exclude abortion providers practicing in outpatient settings—the vast majority of providers.

This is upsetting and outrageous. I brought together 18 contributors and an artist for our anthology on menopause and raised all the money to make publishing it possible. It came out in UK, Ireland & Europe in Match. Contributors were paid. I haven’t received any money.

Stirring and beautiful piece on the people repro groups leave behind by supporting viability limits on abortion.

So-called “compromises” lead to forced births, like that of a California woman turned away after raising thousands and flying across the country. Read @amylittlefield.bsky.social:

The best later abortion reporting I’ve ever read. Thank you @amylittlefield.bsky.social for lifting up our patients and staff in such a tender, respectful way, and for calling out the terrible political decisions that got us viability bans.
amylittlefield.bsky.social
My cover story in the June issue of @thenation.com is a dispatch from one of the few clinics offering abortions in all trimesters.

It’s a call to defend all abortions and to trust pregnant people.

It’s also, incidentally, my pregnancy announcement:

“Later abortion is banned in all but nine states and Washington DC, and performed in only a handful of clinics nationwide.” Viability bans lead to stories like this, which will only become more frequent if the Trump admin restricts medication abortion for early care

sceeenshot from The Nation: A 29-year-old with light skin and dark hair walks down the hall at Partners, sobbing. She flew here from California, one of the 22 states in the country that ban abortion at or around
"viability." In 2022, 67 percent of California voters backed a referendum that blocks the state from interfering in a patient's pregnancy decisions, but a state law banning most abortions after viability still stands.
So the patient in the hallway faced a grueling journey from one of the nation's bluest states.
First she had to raise close to $20,000 to pay for the abortion itself. At least 90 percent of Partners' uninsured patients cobble this funding together from abortion funds and clinic discounts. Yet by the time she made her decision, raised the money, and flew to Maryland, an ultrasound had put her well past Partners' limit.
