I remember back on twitter someone posted a clip of X-Play making xenophobic remarks towards a Japanese game and Adam Sessler missed the point of what people's problem was and essentially double down, causing people to post more clips of X-Play's xenophobia.

It's not that surprising. I was too stupid to clock it at the time but X-Play was covered in racism and sexism. Like when Morgan told us about Japan "...then we nuked em, and that's when they became a real country".
Also they were partly responsible for using Japanese pejorative about games.

Upon looking back on older episodes of X-Play, I felt stupid for not noticing how much racism was in them. Like omg, they did not like Japanese people AT ALL. WTF?!
It feels like once a year we have a new wave of people discovering Adam Sessler, then discovering X-Play, and then discovering 2000s era video game coverage super racism against Japan.

The antipathy towards Japanese games or anything Japanese really still runs deep in a lot of Gen X/Xillenial nerds. I still remember that day on Twitter when a lot 40-something comicbook people lost their shit when someone said Monkey D. Luffy was more iconic than any DC Comics character.
