This person had just enough restraint to not turn the video into an "X-Play reviews a Japanese game" throwback.

I remember back on twitter someone posted a clip of X-Play making xenophobic remarks towards a Japanese game and Adam Sessler missed the point of what people's problem was and essentially double down, causing people to post more clips of X-Play's xenophobia.

That was an interesting time.

It's not that surprising. I was too stupid to clock it at the time but X-Play was covered in racism and sexism. Like when Morgan told us about Japan "...then we nuked em, and that's when they became a real country".

Also they were partly responsible for using Japanese pejorative about games.

Made it in a word processor because I'm too lazy to go straight into an image editor for a quick and dirty chart.

it also turned those lobbies into laughing stocks. For every racist joke X-play had about Japanese games it had two for "the racist 14 year old who buy x-box games"

and you KNOW they're acting like this because it's a western-made game because if it was a Japanese-made game they'd immediately 180 and get more racist than X-Play about it

We really haven't moved on from the racist "Oh, Japan you're so WACKY and WEIRD!" comments from the mid-2000's, have we?

japanese media in general suffers a lot of fools who, ~for some reason~, believe japan is incapable of being in on the joke and is just “that weird wacky place”

I remember so much "Those games from Japan sure are gross/weird/wacky!" and then the "wacky" part is that they, like, had stories.
