on top of this smug patronizing spin about mozilla's new "AI" plans, firefox using a red panda for their browser-promo account avatar (which has "fox" right in the name!) is stealing valor from @darthbluesky.bsky.social during winter hibernation. depraved betrayal of multiple decencies
Exactly. We know not everyone wants AI, which is why our approach is different. Firefox is not becoming an AI browser. Features are optional, clearly labeled, and fully under your control with a total opt-out coming early next year. It won't please everyone but we believe you deserve choice.
Look, I get that it's frustrating to see @firefox.com make an announcement this tone-deaf, but let's be clear: the same announcement makes it clear that their AI features will be clearly-labelled and can be turned off, which is more than we'll get from Chrome or any of its offspring (Brave, et. al.)

One day something will happen — a wedding, a graduation, a job promotion, Jake Paul getting knocked out, Andrew Tate getting knocked out the next day — and you’ll want the right outfit to celebrate. Buy that special outfit now, so you’re ready when that next unexpected moment arrives.

@kirstengillibrand.bsky.social @schumer.senate.gov rot in hell you evil bigots
neither of you belong in public service. do you have any idea how many trans constituents you have. do you give a fuck about any of your constituents, or anything at all
don't think you'll like how this plays out for you
Here are the 28 Dem Senators who voted to advance the first federal ban on trans athletes & a federal definition of sex that would make trans & intersex people non-existent: Angela Alsobrooks (MD), Tammy Baldwin (WI), Richard Blumenthal (CT), Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE), Chris Coons (DE), ->
By a vote of 76-23, S 1071 passes the motion to proceed to the motion to concur. Won't know who voted for this until the roll call is uploaded, but safe to say it passed with the support of at least 24 members of the Democratic caucus. (Rand Paul probably voted nay and Steve Daines has been absent).

Occasionally I get these weird flashes of optimism, and in that vein I have to say this has the vibes of a guy who's about to be 86ed from a bar for creeping on women, pissing on the floor, AND starting a fire smoking in the bathroom trying to placate the room by buying a round.

President Trump is preparing to order his administration to dramatically loosen restrictions on MARIJUANA.

The order would reclassify cannabis from Schedule I — the same level as heroin — to Schedule III — the same level as Tylenol and codeine and some steroids.
Trump seeks to cut restrictions on marijuana through planned order
The president is expected to attempt to classify marijuana similar to some common prescription painkillers and other drugs.

It's not a question of politics or party. Congress has a constitutional obligation to impeach and to remove a president who commits high crimes and misdemeanors and forsakes his solemn oath.

And there has never been a president who has committed as many impeachable offenses than this one.
There's a Hill bubble narrative, posing as savvy realism, in treating impeachment as some radioactive poison and so Democrats must squash any talk of it. But there's zero evidence for that. No polls back it up, nor recent history. It's all just pundit-brained conventional wisdom eating its own tail.

Importantly, this wouldn't have passed without Dem support. There was enough of a split within Republican ranks that if Dems had voted against the bill it would've been doa. Giving Trump a blank check to warmonger *and* passing an anti-trans measure was a choice.
