I was at a bar/club/event space with Henry Rollins. I didn't know he was there. Apparently neither did anyone else because I heard later (the event organiser was a friend of a friend) that he was kinda pissed no-one recognised him.

Wrapped South of Midnight. Same opinion on combat, it's kinda just there to be like "see? This is game". But the story, and the stories within, the folklore, the stories and traumas of the game's characters are great (usually heartbreaking). And the music is... just about the best thing ever.

Wrapped Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, and goddamn, what a performance. While I can't say anything to the accuracy of its representation of psychosis, I did watch the little making-of doco and it seems to have been handled with the most care, to the satisfaction of those who matter. Brilliant.

Tis the season! So I thought I'd sit down with some nice, chill, fun-filled game. Naturally I fired up Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. Goddamn, what a brilliant piece of game design. Everything is kind of amazing, but the audio is what is blowing my mind the most. Those multidirectional whispers!

Using a Mac. Suddenly noticed something I'd never noticed before. The chassis was vibrating when I touched it. What did I change? I'd just plugged in my phone, was my phone vibrating? No. Unplugged, still happening, so what could it have been? I just took my shoes off, but that's STUPID.
