had no luck finding mugs at thrift store, but miracle of miracles i found an entire set of heavy white dishes, 6 ea. of dinner plates, dessert plates, large bowls, and dessert bowls. very satisfying. a dollar a piece. looking forward to hosting dinners with less futsing around in the cupboards.

big branch fell down in the parc. managed to saw a small chunk off of it. need a better saw if i want to be doing this more but between the saw and the hatchet i got out a good chunk for either two small spoons or some kind of ladle

i made a bench hook today so i can do carving sitting up at my desk. very excited about to learn to carve little decorations into things.

I love when I can see the work in a piece of art. Practical effects in film, brush strokes on canvas, strange sounds in music, "impossible" visuals in games. It puts me in conversation with the artist. That's why - ethics aside - art created with AI is just so disappointing. There's no work to see.

there are a lot of good movies playing over christmas. particularly excited about cinéma du musée’s xmas day barry lyndon, and the cinéma moderne screenings of the apartment and merry christmas, mister lawrence.

its very annoying that my favourite pants to wear while woodworking have a hole in the crotch now and i do not want to repair them but now i have this extra friction for playing with wood cuz i can’t put on my fav uniform. i am a ritually-oriented person.
