The Digitus PCB is clearly inspired by the KIM-1 but also has many differences. The essential KIM-1 specific parts like 6530-002 and 6530-003 and the keypad were available from MOS Technology as spare parts, no license required for those.

Around 1980. There was an editorial in one of the magazines (which I can not find at the moment, the question popped up some time ago) that quoted a Commodore product manager that production was stopped to make way for the PET.
