Had to do a double-take; if you read quickly it looks like she's saying only 1.4% of SNAP beneficiaries are children. But it's 40%. Almost half of SNAP goes to feeding children.
I want more people to care that SNAP benefits are being cut off on November 1. 40% of SNAP beneficiaries are children. This is callous and vile.

Journalists and congressional staff have asked me what MPD officers think of the federalization shenanigans in DC.

If you are reading this, you are an outlier in terms of civic attentiveness. 1/3rd of Americans didn't vote last election. Most officers don't care. Apathy is the slow death of the US.

The Trump administration released a long-delayed, drastically scaled-back version of the State Department’s annual human rights report. Shrinking it to just one-tenth the length of last year’s. Entire sections on abuses against women and LGBTQ people are gone, replaced by a narrower focus on

NEW: After Utah Sen. Mike Lee’s proposal to sell public lands was removed from Trump’s megabill, advocates celebrated.

But the senator indicated he would revisit the issue, saying: “I continue to believe the federal government owns far too much land.”

Utah Sen. Mike Lee Says Selling Off Public Lands Will Solve the West’s Housing Crisis. Past Sales Show Otherwise.
Last month, Lee introduced a now-removed amendment to Trump’s policy megabill that mandated the sale of up to 3 million acres. It did little to address the challenges of building affordable housing…

He should be held accountable for his crimes, not platformed. Beyond shameful.
