I got creative with words and lasers today 😊
A live edge wood plank with the following poem laser engraved in it: The Sky is My Stage Up here, the clouds are my ballroom floor, I dance in the wind, and my spirit soars. A graceful waltz through the open blue, Each flight a dream, that feels brand new. Below the world fades, just a distant hum, Free of the bustle, to its chaos numb. Here in this refuge, up in the sky, I find my true peace; my soul can fly. The rivers weave and mountains part, The earth unfolds like living art. As the sunset gleams, in its golden hue, Nature’s masterpiece, a surreal view. A skilled aviatress, at one with my plane, The sky is my home, my natural domain. In this cockpit, I find my might, Guided by stars and lost in delight.

I’m seeing lots of librarians compiling booklists about protests, which reminded me: Back in Sept 2021, after the spring of George Floyd and a summer of anti-vax/mask protests, I set up a display about protest movements, with signage created by a student.

Minneapolis is trying out new forms of resistance. They're doing pop-up blockade block parties. This one is on Cedar and 34th, a main route into the city. They have a stereo, food & a fire. MPD is present but not interfering. Lots of honks of support. ICE agents have been reported detouring around.

went on the SPD Facebook page and this was the top comment on a post about what SPD says they're doing to protect people from ICE. Fawning Trump fangirl (and former local TV person) Brandi, who lives 30 miles from Seattle, thinks SPD should be helping ICE, not protecting those of us who live here
