Never fall for the scam that letting these llm merchants sink and die hurts anyone except the venture capitalists trying to manufacture consent for everyone else to subsidize their monumental failure at their own jobs
One explanation for economic populism in the US is the recurring cycle of bubbles and bailouts that happens without any democratic input

Yet a three-judge panel of the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals blocked that order on *Wednesday 🤔

DOGE was always a very thinly disguised con to dress up data theft and extraction class destruction of federal corporate oversight as innovative, and it's important to remember that part of the reason it worked so well is that the press helped legitimize it
hey don't be so hard on yourselves; it delivered oceans of sensitive government and citizen data to billionaires
Musk’s DOGE Quietly Killed Off After Delivering Almost Nothing
The agency disbanded eight months ahead of schedule.

The fact that the bot told this kid that rope is “the most classic” method for hanging yourself is insane

These assignments encourage people to become DIY detectives, exacerbating a boom in conspiracy theories. The “permission structure of doubt” normalises suspicion as a default setting and suggests that another algorithm (like Google’s search) can discover the truth.

TRAINS
the fact that amtrak cascades hit another ridership record in FY25 despite shutting down for two weeks and spending half the year running smaller trains with higher prices bc of the horizon recall is another sign that the demand for rail in the pnw is genuinely insatiable

DOGE was created for data theft and infrastructure dismantling and it wildly succeeded on both counts within the first few weeks of its existence. It will take a generation to rebuild what it destroyed and the breach of data is unprecedented.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

You must understand the principle of concurrent activity! You must not multi-task (all your focus on one act at a time) BUT multiple processes must be ongoing at once. You can prep many things in advance—especially veg—to have your mise en place locked down for the big day.
Make a spreadsheet. List cooking times (and resting for protein), device (oven, crock pot, stove top, smoker, grill, etc) and temperatures. Work backwards from when dinner is ready. Project manage this fucker.
most people just aren’t going to magically know how to juggle all those dishes just because it’s a holiday. there’s no shame in doing a couple of things really well

the “thanksgiving food is bad” discourse raises its ugly head every year, but the truth remains that thanksgiving food can be amazing as long as you know how to cook. the problem is we’re throwing a few million sunday drivers directly into a grand prix
I think this is unfair to turkey. turkey is good but hard to cook well because it is so damn big. turkey *parts* are great but lack the esthetic appeal of a centerpiece bird.
it is tired to the point of cliche to say if turkey was good, people would make it more than once a year. but it is understated that at least one American explodes every Thanksgiving in a brave attempt to make the main dish more palatable

There are going to be prominent Democrats and mainstream media voices who insist that we have to "turn the page" and "forgive and forget" and they should all be roundly ignored, if not mercilessly mocked.
