#ServiceNotification for the few that work with #KIF15 : please note that the polyclonal KIF15 AB #55407-1-AP by #proteintech creates lots of specific-looking background in IF (especially in interphase cells) that IS NOT KIF15! As tested in a KIF15 KO cell line rescued with a FLAG-tagged WT KIF15.
Behold the beauty of a human metaphase spindle 🫠

Now online @jcellsci.bsky.social: in vitro reconstitution work showing that the tail of plant kinesin-12 POK2 interacts with microtubules, MAP65 and anionic lipids that together could mediate it's targeting to and long-time retention at the cell cortex. journals.biologists.com/jcs/article/...
The tail domain of the plant kinesin-12 POK2 is a versatile interaction hub
Summary: In vitro reconstitution experiments reveal that the tail domain of the kinesin-12 POK2 interacts with microtubules, MAP65-3 and lipids as a possible mechanism for division site deposition and...

New paper out now @cp-cellreports.bsky.social! If you would like to know, what it takes to turn a classical transport #kinesin motor into a decent #microtubule polymerase read on here www.cell.com/cell-reports.... (Pssst it's the N-terminal motor domain extension of budding yeast kinesin #Kip2)😉
The kinesin Kip2 promotes microtubule growth using a bipartite polymerase module to deliver tubulin to microtubule plus ends
Microtubules act as highways in cells, with kinesins transporting cargo and maintaining their length for cell survival. Nadalis et al. show that the yeast kinesin Kip2 promotes microtubule growth by d...
