Just a Chicagoan trying to do it all.
I’m actually really liking the interface redesign for iOS and Mac. It feels cleaner.

I hate it to break it to you guys but they are already, actively, using AI. This isn’t a future generation thing…
We can’t have our future medical doctors & engineers having ChatGPT doing their problem solving for them man this seems as obvious as it is crucial.

Being from Chicago trumps being American. This is the Chicago pope. I consider the matter settled.

Found my people. The longest I stayed anywhere were my final years of high school, and even then I technically should have moved for a third.

I used to hate it growing up, but when I tell you the super powers you gain. Adult me appreciates it more.
i think i went to like 10 different schools from childhood till i graduated high school lol

Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House.

We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication.

They own what happens next.

We’re in this mess in large part bc the average American is uninformed about fundamentals of civics, history, basic biology, economics, etc, and media and the internet are not meeting the moment.

Is anyone organizing teach-ins or similar for the general public, whether irl or online?

In the area around 1600 N. LaSalle, over half of the residents are younger than 37 years old.

Here’s a picture I took at the public meeting for the project in May. I want you to count how many attendees appear to be under 37.

(Keep in mind that the meeting was held in a HIGH SCHOOL.)

Is this a safe space to say Nosferatu was ALL style zero substance? The cinematography was great but that’s about the only compliment I can provide…

What I’m trying to say is, the movie was ass.

periodically I look around at the state of the internet and the way it is clearly contributing to making the world worse in so many ways, and I think back to dicking around in a computer lab in the early 00s and how full of promise it all felt, and I feel sad

it didn't have to be this way

Unit types aside, I wish architects would create more buildings like this instead of tired ass glass boxes. I'm a fan.

Being in an empty cinema in the middle of the day is one of life's secret pleasures. Do it more often. No one can call you. You can't check the internet. No one knows how baked you may or may not be. They have movies and snacks there, too, but that's just a bonus at this point.

Truly. One of my favorites.
Finally watched Arrival last night and I really think we should be allowed more big-budget films about linguistics.
