notwithstanding, at the very first or a few understanding(s) of a model or theory being wrong, it should be given a cyanide pill, told to fk off forever, bc once it’s wrong once or a few times, it will always be wrong, _provide only losses and will be useless and outdated forever_. #bookchapterideas

“once you’re in a victim mindset, that’s your identity, that’s your language (of the have nots), that’s how you talk e.g. excuses: “the jobs are going to immigrants” & “immigrants are stealing all the jobs.” the “have not” will never see solutions, they will never take action.“ - summary of a tiktok

people with serious personal and career failings, with no competitive goals & ambitions, flailing away in life, that are older, are the absolute worst ppl to know any information about you — would be my advice to young people esp at work — they will target what they can’t ever become. #tiktokideas

i think the reason why certain nationalities of immigrants do well here is bc they recognize from first-hand experience what to focus on in a failed state: savings, education and family. my bet (heh) is that they are not the target audience for sports betting commercials.

Code repeating itself in a codebase slowly becomes a form of tech debt-and it’s tricky to avoid on larger projects, even at Google.

I wonder when using AI coding tools, duplication would start to become a problem sooner vs before?

the game of america is to be more extreme than the next person … whatever it is, including cruelty. this is the land of having an annual hot dog eating competition on the nation’s birthday — that’s your hint that’s what’s what america is all about: literally extremism, consumption and competition.

and then third. the government really just does not care about you. sometimes you get some small wins here and there, but it really just doesn’t. lawmakers don’t read the laws they sign. so, think twice before you eat that crumbl cookie with 50 GRAMS of sugar bc no one’s going to stop you. #soapbox

A traveler from an antique land--great guy--said to me with tears in his eyes "Sir, two vast and trunkless legs of stone stand in the desert." And I said wow, that's really something. But we'll be building a big beautiful statue to my hubris and it will stand for eternity

my two things about america i’ve seen and accepted: you can _probably_ do what ever you want. absolutely. sure. but you _definitely_ don’t want to do whatever you want in order to survive this game/experiment and that’s the illusion. second, lots of people are just stuck in high school.
