Haven't seen much on how the assault on democratic public education (via vouchers/privatization) complements the assault on the federal government (deregulating & framing expertise as a threat). And how both suit the purposes of Christian nationalists as well as far-right libertarians (Musk et al.)

We started making books in kindergarten officially this week. They LOVE it. I am hearing such adorable stories- they are quite the storytellers. We are reading great books like "Ralph Tells A Story " and "Ish" to help us build bravery. Writing Workshop by Teachers College and Lucy Calkins.

I love being a kindergarten teacher. I noticed that we push the kids hard and sometimes what they need is some good old fashioned sensory play. I read them The Snowy Day and then they played with shaving cream. It was messy and they were elated. Play is learning y’all! And it is healing.

We had the dreaded lice going around in kindergarten. I put my hair up. One kid looked at me and said, “You look beautiful”, then two seconds later another kid looks at me and says, “You look creepy!”. Oh kindergarten. They are always keeping it real. Real funny that is!

Every time you don't buy a book from Amazon, but use a good indie store who actually values the sale & treats you & your purchase with respect, the sun shines brighter, floofy puppies gambol in fresher grass, & Jeff Bezos's piles sting for just a biiiit longer.

Sounds GREAT to me.

Buy independent.

President Trump shut down the only remaining method for people to seek asylum at the southern border.

Seeking safety through asylum is a right, and we won’t stop fighting to protect it.

a sign of a healthy and functioning democracy is that i'm getting emails from my kids' schools assuring me that the teachers are dedicated to protecting my children against the federal government

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent.

Opportunities are everywhere.

Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are 📉
