I mean, sure, if there was a war and they snuck up on some soldiers by adopting the trappings of civil aviation, you might call it a war crime. But since there wasn’t one and they snuck up on some civilians who were probably fishermen and at worst drug dealers, it’s just fuckin murder.

sort of an obvious trade-off here: people who are firmly in the "abolish ICE" camp won't know your intentions for sure, but in exchange you don't spook the status quo moderates. i'm not some politics genius, just sort of floating my gut instinct.

I learned about this woman at my local church in suburban MD. The deacon, a man who both looked and sounded like Tobias Fünke, gave a moving homily about how she was an example of what Christ meant when he said “I have come to set the world on fire, and how I wish it was already blazing.”
