I wonder how far Disney/Pixar are from doing a [Remastered] Toy Story? Taking the original data files, remapping and texturing the models, and rendering with present day software.
(toddler parent stuff): the animation in Monsters, Inc. (2001) and Finding Nemo (2003) doesn’t feel dated at all, IMO, but Toy Story (1995) still feels a bit like “advanced bowling alley animation”. they really settled into something.
