Why is it so crushing when you finally get to see a band you love and find out all their voice talent is in autotune and post-production editing? In 2026 I should really know better by now.

How does sand mining reshape rivers?

@drchrishackney.bsky.social explores how #sandmining is transforming riverbeds in the #MekongRiver, #Cambodia. His work shows that bedforms become larger, steeper, and rougher than natural ones, altering flow and #sediment dynamics!

South Korean RV ARAON is indeed the only ship in the world regularly visiting Thwaites Glacier, Antarctica. US no longer has a dedicated Antarctic RV.

US ICE and DHS are continuously trampling on the rights of permanent residents and now they’re trying to isolate them from news outlets and family/friends

The Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) is pulling stunts again. First they have last minute venue changes, now they won’t allow court observations for their online court unless it’s in person. In person at the detention center or in person 300mi away where the judge actually is?

Today is Day 13 of Tae-Heung “Will” Kim being wrongfully detained by ICE. He has been mocked, ridiculed, stolen from, abused and tortured for NO REASON.

He is a legal permanent resident and PhD student studying Lyme Disease. Photo of Jacqui and Will in the lab 👇

Will (Tae Heung) Kim is a U.S. resident, who has been trapped in CBP custody at SFO for more than a week—without access to legal counsel.

Agents told his lawyer: “Don’t bother calling back.”

This is not democracy.

Some professors are so funny because they’ll be like “I’m going to give you guys this study gift and tell you what’ll be on your test” and it’s everything it could possibly be.

It’s always so funny to me when people ask questions like “wait, why is the shark science conference in Minnesota?”

My dudes most of this is sitting in a conference room watching PowerPoint talks and then going out to nearby bars. It does not require ocean access.
