All my carping aside, if you're Mark Pope, I don't know what you do with this team. There's clearly some big dysfunction and bad shooting. Both are hard to fix. I guess you come up with some genius scheme or just pray JQ and Dioubate come back and make a huge difference. #BBN

Mark Pope's program spent more on its roster than any team in college basketball — somewhere in the vicinity of $20 million — and is overseeing a disaster more than a month into the season.

This is a five-alarm fire.

Pretty sure Gonzaga could beat UK with their bench warmers. #BBN

I could think of so much better ways to spend $20+ million than what I am watching right now. #BBN

This is undoubtedly the worst offensive performance I've ever seen from a UK basketball team in my life thus far. #BBN

Report: Kentucky football quickly closing in on replacement for Mark Stoops
Kentucky football is reportedly turning to a former Louisville QB who grew up a UK fan as its next coach.

Eric Wolford, the offensive line coach who unexpectedly left Kentucky only to do terribly at Alabama and then came back, also is on the list. Cutter Boley was sacked 26 times this year under his tutelage. The decision to hire him back was probably the biggest head scratcher of Stoops' late tenure.
The buyout for Stoops is astronomical but I have a bigger problem with whatever they have to pay to buyout the assistants. Bush Hamdan will get something like $1.5 million for an offense that scored 17 points over the last two games.
December 1, 2025 at 4:21 AM
Well, there it is. Reporting suggests Stoops was willing to spread out his $38 million buyout over time, rather than it being due within 60 days as per his contract. Buckle up, #bbn — this might get crazier than the basketball coach search.
NEWS: Kentucky is firing head coach Mark Stoops, a source close to Stoops told @chrisvannini.com and @brucefeldmancfb.bsky.social.

It ends the tenure of the winningest football coach in school history one day after a blowout loss to rival Louisville.

There are rumblings Kentucky may actually move on from Mark Stoops. I'm very skeptical this will happen but if it does, I think it is the right call. I'd like for it to work out with Stoops but I just don't know that it's possible. Not much new or creative happening in recruiting or on the field.

All I will say about the UK football situation is that Indiana, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Georgia Tech are all ranked and knocking on the door of a college playoff birth. And UK is paying its coach one of the highest salaries in all of college football for a 5-7 season. #bbn

How do you make this your central demand for 40 days and then just let it go
Major concession from Democrats here is enhanced ACA funds aren’t extended. Preserving them was Dems’ central demand in this fight. They secured a promise of a vote (which Thune has been offering for weeks), but that could still fail. Even if it passes, Johnson has made no promise of a House vote.
Tentative Senate deal to end shutdown, multiple sources tell me & @frankthorp.bsky.social:

—CR through Jan 30
—Approps minibus
—Fully funds SNAP
—Reverses Trump’s shutdown RIFs
—Promise of Senate vote on ACA subsidies by Dec second week (details/outcome uncertain)
