I have been trying to get this published as an op-ed, but I am going to post it here since I think it is timely in light of the "consent" extortion events.

I am leaving Rochester NY after attending the retirement fest of four giants in the field of evolutionary biology including my PhD advisor. This visit gave me a chance to revisit old haunts and reflect on my own somewhat unlikely origin story. 1/n

Check out this new Levine-Lampson collaboration, led by the talented Hyuk-Joon Jeon.

We explored the consequences of inheriting long telomeres from dad and short telomeres from mom. Or the reciprocal. Turns out, parent-of-origin matters (in mice, at least).

Awesome, very nice work! Excited to dig into it
husbandslab.bsky.social
Yes absolutely. Agree. We are gearing up to do a big bulk RNAseq and I have been thinking about this exact question for a while. Thanks!
husbandslab.bsky.social
Ahh got it! I missed the separate co-expression analyses. Then the overlap of both becomes important. Although it is possible that the limited depth of scrnaseq means the 102 could have been higher and thus there could have been more than 13?
husbandslab.bsky.social
Well done my man! I heard you spoke about this at FASEB but I couldn’t make it
