Regardless of who the President is, or how important the project may be, I think it is a bad idea to allow private funds to be used for the demolition and/or construction of public buildings owned and operated by the federal government. That should always be publicly approved and funded by Congress.

Some good news.

That "Texas won't execute a guy who is likely innocent, at least in the near future" counts as good news right now . . . says a lot about right now.

But I'll take it.

This Reagan-appointed judge is right: Trump’s effort to deport people for speech he dislikes is a “full-throated assault on the First Amendment” — and puts ALL our rights at risk.

Our democracy depends on the courts and ALL OF US standing strong against Trump’s authoritarianism.

I have approximately zero following on this app, sharing in the hopes it can get in front of the right person. A man I went to college with’s wife was kidnapped by ICE at a green card hearing, and he’s trying to find a reporter who will speak to him about the situation

You'd think something like this would have at least involved Congress, but nope!
Some voters got mad about people listing their pronouns, so now we're sending law-abiding, legal immigrants to torture prisons and being hit with the largest middle class tax hike in at least 40 years.

The reason Democrat politicians and activists struggle in small towns and rural areas is because what they view as some kind of revolutionary call to arms is completely normal church basement behavior in a typical farm town.
The revolution won’t be fought with keyboards by typing angry replies.
-Meet up
-Have conversations
-Show up in groups to help and support the oppressed.
-Show to be an opposition.
We’ve gotten here because we want to be an opposition from our couches.

American cultural exports are so ubiquitous around the world that people mistakenly believe the US has no real culture of its own. Anything Americans create from nothing, the rest of the world quickly adopts as their own. American culture is dynamic, popular, and universally adaptable.
Very serious question, what about the US is really great or has lived up to its own self-proclaimed BS? Growing up here, two generations deep from when they emigrated here, all I see is lies and the same bullshit nationalism that they point the finger at everyone else for.
