Tarlov is correct. I find this story particularly annoying because of how (perhaps deliberately) unfocused it is. These horrific fires aren't the result of LA city budgetary policy, even if $17M was truly cut. It's the fault of the capitalist climate criminals who are killing us all as they profit.
Jessica: There is a story that there was $17 million cut from the fire budget and that is inaccurate. The budget had an extra $17 million because they bought one off expenses. Respiratory protection for firefighters. There’s an extra $50 million set aside for the fire department
