I randomly discovered that copies of one of my comics (the one you'd expect) occasionally sell on eBay & Mercari for $20 - $35. I see none of that money but it's pretty neat. I sold over 1,000 copies of that book with no publishing deal (I had one at one point but it fell through for reasons). (1/2)

There is nothing like the pain of coming within 1-2 hits of beating Balteus and accidentally hitting "restart mission" instead of "restart from checkpoint."

I finally took some XBox time and picked up my neglected copy of Armored Core 6 (bought launch day, only beat a handful of the intro levels).

My son just got into CrunchLabs videos and now wants one of the subscriptions, but he’s in the weird middle space where the Build Boxes are probably too simple for him and he most likely doesn’t have the patience for the Hack Pack (despite being smart enough IMO). It’s a tough call.

I’m but a simple country theoretical physicist, and I can say, in my professional capacity, “datacenters in space” is so colossally, monumentally stupid that it is difficult to know where to start with which laws of physics the idea is spitting in the face of the most.

Following years of a loop of Minecraft/Smash Bros/Mario Kart (not that those are bad games, they are good), combined with whatever barely 16-bit dopamine rush game his friends like, my son finally tried a Zelda game (Tears of the Kingdom) and absolutely loves it.
I almost cried from joy.

As a small part of my mental recovery I started building Gunpla again. I knocked out a quick High Grade in a couple hours and it felt good. Not sure when I will have time to dig into a MG or RG (which I’m dying to do), but I’m appreciating the little bit of peace I get from building one.

My mental health, after years of it not being good and cratering to a 10-year low this past fall, is finally in a decent enough place to tentatively venture back in to public social media.
Optimistic I’ll return to comics in 2026 - finishing the work that should have been complete in 2023 and (1/4)

I haven’t logged on in months & really don’t regret it. Between the deluge of horribly informed political takes (& getting followed by 300+ fetish porn accounts because I wrote “18+ comic writer” in my bio), Bluesky immediately felt hostile.
Won’t be back again for a long time, break still needed.
