Here's a thread listing all of my published stories. I've noted the ones that are available to read for free, but please consider supporting these (across the board excellent) magazines, anthologies, etc. And thank you for reading! Here we go...

ICYMI, we're open to submissions by authors of historically marginalized backgrounds for this entire month!

We want to read more works by Black writers, Indigenous writers, disabled writers, gay and lesbian and trans writers, and other folks whose voices must be heard!

🚨THIS IS A BIG DEAL. Chicago journalists are suing the Trump administration for using excessive force against reporters & protestors in violation of the 1A.
The press here is doing astounding work documenting how ICE is out of control. The violence they face in doing so is obscene.
The protests at the Broadview ICE facility and the federal government’s violent
attempts to silence the protesters became a story of great interest to the local Chicago media and
was also covered in the national press. Much of the coverage described the federal officers’
abusive tactics. Defendants sought and are seeking to quash this coverage by attacking and
intimidating members of the Press on the ground there.
85. Federal immigration officers at the Broadview ICE facility have repeatedly and
intentionally singled out persons whom they know to be members of the Press for violence,
assault, and intimidation. These assaults are not incidental or unintentional. They are undertaken
by design to intimidate journalists on scene and to frustrate and suppress coverage of the federal
officers’ actions toward protesters and immigration detainees

Cover for Issue 28 (October 2025) of Small Wonders magazine. The painting, by Elizaveta Nazarova, shows a bedroom in grayscale, with a focus on one end of the bed. Eyes glow in the dark under the bed, and two clawed hands reach out into the room. The authors and poets in the issue are Montanna Rayne Harling, S.M. Hallow, Gordon Brown, Rebecca E. Treasure, Amanda Mitzel, Stacie Turner, Rachel Gutin, Casey Aimer, and Karl G. Dandenell. Editors are Stephen Granade and Cislyn Smith.

We need to stop viewing our age as exceptional. People (including scientists) have been passionately wrong about the natural world for at least the history of the western world. As long as inquiry persists error gets corrected. What we need to advocate is continuing inquiry with minimum quackery.

Always a great time with this one, each detail just makes it all the more delicious. Pulling back, another ex of the "something wants in/something wants out" basic horror building blocks but just tweaked in the best way.

The president just gathered the highest ranking officers in the military to tell them that he may order them to kill American citizens -- and that they better follow his orders. All in response to a series of crises that have no basis in reality.

I don't know how to yell any louder.

Hegseth's words seem especially chilling in light of his whitewashing of the Wounded Knee Massacre as a heroic "battle" only a few days ago. The message would seem to be that the Trump Administration is willing to forgive any atrocity US troops may commit as an "earnest mistake."

Hegseth: "You should not pay for an earnest mistake for your entire career. That's why today, at my direction, we're making changes to the retention of adverse information on personnel records."
