Nearly always within (long) arms reach of a soldering iron, a set of lock picks, and a 'treats warning signs as personal insults' attitude.

Snapped the little latch that actuates the soap dispenser on my dishwasher off.

Right to repair win - No detailed manuals, but the exploded view shows all I need, I can get at the business end of it with a single screwdriver, and the parts are even available online.

...Eighty fucking dollars?

I'm in one of those 'why the heck doesn't this thing have a removable power cord' moods.

Currently listening to one of a billion 'LitRPG transported to a vaguely high fantasy/magical world book'

This one is solid middle of the pack for the most part, but at one point the MC was able to return to earth temporarily.

It feels really strange to say I only like some Pendulum songs, when their entire discography is just the same song 53 different times

I spent about an hour searching through YouTube for a specific remix of 'Take it Off' by Ke$ha that I was like 85% sure I hadn't hallucinated.

That's already a pretty tough position to justify taste-wise, but when I finally found it with this title/cover art, I knew I was really in for it.

I've been using a fitness app for workout tracking, and it's doing a great job of keeping me honest by having an extremely poor user interface.

Yeah we'll see about that.

First day that was too warm to wear one of my loose fitting sweatshirts to work in quite a while.

How's that for trans day of visibility?

Did you know that all the generators on the power grid are spinning in sync with each other? The grid has a heartbeat and each and every machine connected to it must follow the rhythm.

This includes the machines in your home! Your buzzing fridge compressor is beating in time with the same heart.

Coworker needed to cut through something, immediately singles me out 'do you have a pocketknife?'

Which, yes, but good to know there's something inherently EDC coded about how I act.

If you have pronounced veins and are feeling weird about them, or just need a ego boost in general, consider donating blood.

You get

1) To do a genuine good for very little effort on your part
2) 20-30 minutes of compliments from nurses about how great of a patient you are
3) Cookies

language is so beautiful like i just love the way some words and phrases roll off the tongue. "9V battery" has such a nice sting to it.

I'm not going to pretend that LASIK is anything other than a top tier acronym. It has a sub-acronym, a Latin loan phrase, and a fancy Greek compound verb.

But it doesn't make me giggle the way hearing the procedure described as 'laser glasses removal' does.

A part for a project I've been slowly working on in amongst other things arrived after a several month delay

In light of other things that have happened since I ordered it, I'm considering framing it

I occasionally 3d print new things whose primary purpose is to keep my hands occupied while sitting at my desk.

The cardboard box with a (plastic) knife stabbed through it sitting next to my computer suggests the underlying emotion behind that need may have shifted.
