Here cause I'm missing the days when we just hated each other but hung out anyway. I'm an occasional contrarian, but mostly here for the vibes. Oh and Formula 1, birds, and Boston sports fanaticism
Reminder to those that want gun regulation. The parading of black panthers with semi-automatic weapons inspired Ronald Reagan, yeah that gun toting I love the NRA MoFo that became president, to pass gun legislation in Cali. Just a thought...

This is good advice generally. If you want an alternative solution, don't just shit on the existing one, but offer and promote the one you want. Otherwise you will probably just get another shitty one.
We get it, Newsom sucks.

The cure is too find another candidate to back because right now what’s breaking through is “Newsom President.”

You need “AOC President” or “Pete president” to be popular.

A lot of voting is word repetition. Elevate others instead of the person you hate.

More than 80% of the population sees the government openly shoot a mom in her SUV and we wonder if people are going to have trouble trusting the government...This is the ironic part dems often miss, mistrust of government goes republicans way even if it doesn't seem that way now.
This is incredible: 81% of working class and 83% of young voters have seen video of Renee Good's killing, per new data I've obtained. Majority of working class disapproves of ICE enforcement. ICE brutality is breaking through big time.

Some thoughts on this here:

In the 1950's, cars were made with portable record players. They were terrible, but they created the space that inspired 8-tracks, cassettes and eventually CD's. Sometimes you need to share your shitty idea so you can inspire a great one.

I'm sick of seeing all these "you're not crazy, this or that is crazy..." It's bullshit. You're crazy AND that is crazy. Probably because of it. medium.com/@Iamsureyour...
Don’t Believe Them. You ARE Crazy. We All Are.
Sadly, I don’t believe that we’re outside the circumstances driving people crazy, we comprise them. We are all mad here.

Can somebody wake up Bob Dylan and let him know the gestapo-esque government agents for a department called Ice just shot someone named Good? I mean it almost writes itself...

This is either the start of a really funny joke when those three walk into a bar or the horrible apocalyptic future we've stumbled into like a steaming pile of dog leftovers.
So, all it took to destroy the government was a complicit SCOTUS, a feckless and spineless Congress, and a felon.

Part of the problem working for a company that asks me to be "on" all the time, checking emails etc, is not just that it takes my life outside work, but it seeps that poison into my personal life. Other day, I wanted to tell my brother "let's take a step back and reconsider this..." Make it stop!

I decided resolutions are bullshit. You need to keep creating, not because of resolve but because you owe the world. Keep paying back your debts. medium.com/@Iamsureyour...
Pay Back Your Life Debt — Keep Creating
For taking up space, you owe a debt to society, your family, and the world that created you. Pay it with your perspective.

It's an old and obvious pattern. An unpopular president - failing on the economy and losing his grip on power at home - decides to launch a war for regime change abroad.

The American people don’t want to “run” a foreign country while our leaders fail to improve life in this one.

Thank god we're back to invading for no reason and occupying a territory with no foreseeable end in sight. Gotta keep those military industrial complex fires a burning somehow. Otherwise, they might have to do business like the rest of us. Can't have that.

I hate to admit it but buses are probably the most plausible futuristic form of public transit in a country that built roads as the means to get around instead of train tracks or subway tunnels. I never liked the bus, but maybe that's cause the bus just never got it's due.
One thing I wrote about here is how technology has made buses *way* more convenient while techno-futurists were obsessed with flying taxis and self-driving cars.

This is what happens when the strongest trait of capitalism, competition, is stifled by consolidation and corruption. Tesla, our biggest EV company, gets beaten by the Chinese competitor that has been battling with other Chinese competitors for years and innovating as a result.

What I'm thinking about doing is to construct one long seamless story from 1788 to 2028.

Each election, the immortal voter will tell us why they voted for the candidate.

Like a story.

I think that would be an awesome approach to American history.

How education died in America: I think 2+2=5 so I got all my friends on board and now we're a huge voting block of Fivers. We now elect reps who understand this doesn't impact their personal goal of amassing wealth/power so they change the dep of ed to enforce the idea that 2+2 may equal 5.
An essential development over the past decade-plus is that the ignorant went from feeling chastened when their ignorance was revealed to banding together and deciding that, actually, they were right. They might disagree at times, but they agreed that ignorance itself was an indicator of trust.
