UK passport holders can live and work in Ireland with no minimum £savings requirement or funding.

Note: Healthcare is still free.

What, you may be asking, has this to do with the trans agenda? For one thing, Hopper is a reminder that surgery has long exercised a pathological fascination on some people, including a minority of surgeons. And this is almost always driven by some form of sexual compulsion. The trans lobby has long denied that the desire for so-called 'gender-affirming healthcare' contains at least an element of sexual fetishism. Though why we would believe this claim from trans activists any more than we accept their other claims is beyond me.

Excuse me? It’s not a competition. But it’s a fact you can literally say anything about trans at the moment. If you think I’m going to pipe down about that and not continue to highlight how transphobia is treated as less serious than racism or homophobia, then you are in for a big disappointment.

I can't stand the NYT but their reporting on this was actually good. They highlighted the threatening tweets he was arrested for and highlighted how he set to go to trial over harassing a trans teenager.

The first screenshot explains that Linehan was taken into police custody, searched, and interviewed over three posts he made on X (formerly Twitter), including one advocating violence against transgender people. It notes he claimed the post was “not a call to violence” and that he was “arrested for jokes.” Police defended the arrest, citing threats against a protected group as potentially an offense. The article also reports that nearly 4,800 hate crimes against transgender people were recorded in the UK in the year ending March 2024, up from 2,800 in 2021.

The second screenshot reports that Linehan, 57, is set to go on trial for allegedly harassing an 18-year-old transgender rights campaigner, which he denies. Politicians and public figures react: Conservative MP Chris Philp criticized the arrest as “disproportionate”; broadcaster India Willoughby argued that such posts endanger people and misuse free speech to bully minorities; Green Party leader Zack Polanski said Linehan’s posts were “totally unacceptable” and the arrest “proportionate.” The Trans Safety Network stated Linehan’s tweet was an “unambiguous call for vigilante violence against trans women” in bathrooms.

I’m a gay bloke too, and India Willoughby is absolutely right to describe anti-trans gay men as “Vichy”.

I doubt any of us in the LGBT+ community would want anything to do with a TERF gay man like John. The degrading way he talks about India makes the reason for that very obvious.

This is a fascinating story: SEGM commissioned systematic reviews on gender affirming care, claimed they showed care should be banned, so the authors have released this statement saying their research is being misused and that it is unconscionable to ban gender affirming care:
