Trump tried to punish our kids and cut billions in child care and other services simply because our state voted against him.

A federal judge just blocked him.

Leave our children out of political games.

What the KENNEDY Center used to be…

Remember that time Aretha Franklin performed at the 2015 Kennedy Center Honors, paying tribute to Carole King, who co-wrote “You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman,” and it brought a tear to Obama’s eye and everyone to their feet? And Carole King’s reaction. Wow.

Possibly the best thing you will learn today
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

Now that it's been gifted...latest cross-stitch completion. My cousin collects nutcrackers, and I find them creepy so naturally I had to hide this in plain sight on Christmas Eve.

More people have died in ICE detention in 2025 than any year since 2004.

The government has a legal and moral obligation to provide people in its custody with medical care and livable conditions.
Four ICE detainee deaths in four days spark alarm as arrests grow
At least 30 detainees have died in 2025, prompting concerns about deteriorating conditions at facilities even as the agency has received an infusion of cash from Congress.

The White House claims the vote to rename the Kennedy Center was “unanimous.” That is false. I was muted on the call and denied the opportunity to speak or register my opposition. That is not consensus. That is censorship.

Just this morning I commented that Stephen Graham Jones makes my life richer with every read.
But I didn't just stumble upon his books.
Becky Spratford led me to them, along with countless others (truly) that I might never have discovered on my own.

Thank you, Becky, for making my life richer.

Good article.
But not quite sure "dumbfounded" is the exact right word. Because this is not exactly astonishing; rather it's more annoying and even aggravating.

What I always hear: “We can’t afford to pay our workers more than $15 an hour.”

What I never hear: “We can’t afford to pay our CEO millions of dollars a year.”

Funny how that works.

Adult stuff: Crafting for Sinners was tons of fun, Creep was thought-provoking, Water Moon was...not for me
YA/MG stuff: LOVED Hunger's Bite so much, Facing the Enemy taught me loads about WWII and Nazis in US

Hunger's Bite by Taylor Robin
Debut graphic novel.
Fantastic period tale of mystery & horror set aboard a luxury ship sailing between London and NY.
Delightfully creepy (often cute) art.
Powerful use of color.
Nuanced characters.
