One thing to bear in mind here is that the union that represents the wide majority of Chicago police earlier this year dedicated the cover and a good chunk of the inside of its magazine for members to praising Tom Homan and ICE.

Stop lying. Your state cops attacked protesters alongside ICE yesterday. I was there. I and others were violently attacked by ICE agents. Your state cops acted in concert with them during the attack.
State, county, and local law enforcement have been working together and coordinating to ensure public safety around the Broadview ICE facility, and to protect people’s ability to peacefully exercise their constitutional rights.

feds have been all over the northwest side today.

at least six people snatched so far by masked federal agents—one person from in front of a school, another from outside a convenience store, and one person near a public park.
Witness video shared to Facebook shows feds swiftly grabbing someone off the street at Lawrence and Kedzie this morning and putting them in an unmarked car. Locals know this is a busy intersection, the beating heart of Albany Park:

Kyle Lucas, executive director of the advocacy group Better Streets Chicago, described the saga as “a giant waste of everyone’s time over meaningless political games.”

“The pilot program needs to happen,” Lucas said. “So whichever path gets us there is the path that we would like to see.”

Opportunistic bullshit from Ray Lopez.

If someone convicted of a crime, they are sent to IDOC & they go on ICE's radar.

The only thing Ray's ordinance would do is eliminate the presumption of innocence.

A simple arrest shouldn't lead to deportation.

Reminder that one of the most important times to wear a mask is right now during holiday season travel. Transits hubs are high risk as many people travel while they are sick. A high quality mask like an N95 will help protect you and help ensure you don't miss out on valuable time with loved ones.
