The last two "big" announcements from Silicon Valley:

1) Figma sites: inaccessible mess
2) Apple Liquid Glass: inaccessible mess

I can't actually remember the last time Silicon Valley came up with something that was actually good.

I just realized I built an entire task system instead of replying to one email. Anyone else turn procrastination into a productivity art form?

The problem with ADHD is I can’t multitask very well but I also can’t solotask.

I used to just move pixels. Now I solve problems.

Shifting from UI to product design means pushing back when clients want a pretty screen over a useful one.

I keep records now. If it breaks later, the receipts show: it wasn’t my call.

The only thing that sparked any interest from the new Figma release is grids. Which to me should have been a feature improvement awhile ago when the updates for layouts with wrap content came out. I have been doing grids with max and min widths already. #figma #config #uidesignt

Tried shadcn on a project. Thought I’d prefer daisyUI—felt more design-forward. shadcn’s solid though. Can see why Devs love the control. But daisyUI? It just looks good out of the box.

Sometimes you want clean and fully custom. Sometimes you want that razzle dazzle.

Crypto says it's decentralized, but it's weird how its movements are pretty much in line with the stock market. It's like someone copied their homework and just made a few changes to avoid getting busted.

Oh… oh no… I forgot about #adhd awareness month. That tracks. Was going to make a video about my experience since getting diagnosed. Guess I’ll save it for next year.

Honestly, one of the best things about getting diagnosed with ADHD is finally having a name for all the weird things my brain does.

Being late diagnosed AuDHD is spending your entire life trying to understand other people while nobody makes an effort to understand you. Then realizing you don’t even fully understand yourself since all of your energy was spent trying to understand everyone else. #audhd #autism #adhd #cptsd

Oh no! “Now” me just realized “Not Now” me left important tasks that needed to be done in 2024. And “future” me forgot to remind “Not Now” me there was less time with the holidays, to get them done. The New Year's countdown is a real deadline now.

Ringing in the new year with ADHD debit already! 🎉

ADHD tips from people who don’t have it: get a day planner!

ADHD tips from people who do: your only hope of feeling like a functional person in this life is to get a job that consists mostly of sprinting between a dozen simultaneous emergencies at 10 o’clock at night

The ADHD urge to forget everything I know about my own symptoms in the heat of the moment.

“I’ll remember to do that later.”

“This planner will work for me.”

“I still have plenty of time.”

need product differentiation?

overhire a #CSS front-end team and ask them to:
- polish whatever
- add delight wherever

and watch as your product becomes smooth and buttery while everyone else's gather dust and crust

UI is a huge space offering differentiation via quality

This may be an "old woman yells at cloud" moment, but I genuinely do miss when a game just released fully and that was it. No extra DLC content, no micro transactions, etc. Just buying the game and you get the ENTIRE experience in box.

Waiting for a game to download sucks. It’s hard for me to keep my enthusiasm up for that long. I’m in my mid 30s and have ADHD. What do you mean I have to wait four and a half hours? I’ll have three new fixations by then
