and before, "but itati, what else are we supposed to do?" you are supposed to counter organize. you are supposed to pressure your universities to stop accruing capital in endowments and use that money to actually invest in itself and not football. You are supposed to engage in conflict.

Your job is just a way to accrue the capital to survive. "careers" are the playgrounds of the elite&their failed children and are not in fact meant to advance society. everyone has to opt into a shared reality AND relationality for society to work. The West is collapsing and we will not get it back

I have found that accepting the new meta (neoliberal economies falling to fascism to keep the elite in power) and making choices accordingly (participating as little as possible in the maintainence of empire) has helped my mental health immensely.

The new Wiley journal review system is an absolute nightmare. Editorial assistants have been replaced by a clunky, AI-enabled website that makes it harder to find and invite reviewers. Associate editor workloads have increased. I'm not convinced the invitations to reviewers are even going through.

Legal insurrection. The President is the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, not an Oregon judge. Portland and Oregon law enforcement, at the direction of local leaders, have refused to aid ICE officers facing relentless terrorist assault and threats to life. (There are more local law enforcement officers in Oregon than there are guns and badges in the FBI nationwide).
This is an organized terrorist attack on the federal government and its officers, and the deployment of troops is an absolute necessity to defend our personnel, our laws, our government, public order and the Republic itself.
