It’s not the prettiest section of the River Bride but it’s a focal point for Blackpool Village. It’s also surprising busy in terms of nature with dipper, mallard, grey wagtail, sand martins the occasional otter and even small fish (yes, we’ve seen them here). Oh, and this heron too of course.

My friend Graham sadly passed last week, he was a devoted husband & father, a happy go lucky guy who always had a smile. If you can spare a pound, a euro or any donation to help get him home it would be really appreciated.

Are we critical of Cork or critical of how Cork is being managed?

Red = lowest ecological integrity.

Ireland has the great honour of being probably *the* most ecologically trashed nation in all Europe. 🏆 🏆 🏆

Two nights in a row now, over a busy bank holiday weekend, Bus Eireann have chosen to cancel the hourly 216 service from CUH to Monkstown.

Couple this with a two-hour frequency on the 223 route, and commuters relying on the two services are left stranded.

How is this acceptable?

3 of our bikes robbed outside the flat at the bookmarking on Washington St since summer. There’s one bike shed unused (as far as I know) in Patrick’s St since it was installed, any chance it could be moved? @theformerdanboyle.bsky.social

Got talking to a woman at the shops yesterday, her son's an ESB engineer, one of those out fixing powerlines at all hours in awful conditions. Said during the last snow he got nothing but abuse off people pissed off at how long it was taking to restore power. These guys out risking life & limb, ffs.

Stop taking the bait from anglophone Yanks and Brits who mock Irish names because they can't get their heads around not every language being English and instead skip straight to strapping them to 500 copies of "Bun Go Barr" and firing them into the Atlantic
