Just looking at the top row of books in this picture transports me nearly half a century to being 4 years old and cosy with my mam at bedtime and that way a loved voice vibrates through your body when you are sleepy and lie in real close. Pure magic. Read to your kids.

My sister-in-law took this photo of Malcolm. Look at him! How happy and kind he is! He would press his warm weight against you and give you tidy little pupper kisses if you asked him to.
