When Dunnes staff refused to handle S African goods they were denounced by politicians from FF/FG, as well as "business leaders". The same groups blocking the OTB today. They were spat on, beaten by Gardaí and followed by Special Branch. It took 3 years to shame the govt. into acting. Reluctantly.

This is absolutely depraved!

No citizenship if you receive social benefit is disgusting, but also if you have debt?!

Have a credit card? Need a loan for a car? Lucky enough to qualify for a mortgage?
No citizenship for you

What if this was the same for Irish abroad?

Once again, we are way too relaxed about the fact that "shooting Irish people is good actually" is a mainstream political position on the neighbouring island.

I've been thinking about how Britain's legacy in Ireland is a civic tradition of state cruelty and Jim O'Callaghan is that tradition writ large. #speirgorm
Justice and Migration Minister Jim O'Callaghan said he's committed to ensuring Ireland is 'not viewed more favourably than the UK by those seeking to claim asylum'.

Every fucking decision Donohue made as Finance Minister is suspect.
NEW: Paschal Donohoe is resigning as MInister for Finance, and as a TD, in order to take up a role with the World Bank in Washington. Announcement expected after this morning's Cabinet meeting. @virginmedianews.bsky.social

Sure seems like this should be a bigger story than it is.

Hundreds of Palestinians found themselves in South Africa. "Al-Majd", the org that flew them, pretends to be dedicated to helping Muslims when in fact it is a shadowy firm run by an Israeli named Tomer Janar Lind
