I've always liked the 'Bridled' form of Guillemot, but to get a photo of 2 together on Inner Farne in 2019 was special!. #SuperSeabirdSunday

Lucky to find this Ibisbill close to the Ming Tombs in Beijing last week. Formerly a common breeder in suitable habitat, it is now probably functionally extinct due to a loss of habitat (the 'taming' of the capital's fast-flowing stony rivers). This is the 1st record for a few years. #birds #beijing

This photo was taken in 1911 using glass plate technology by Herbert Ponting who was part of Scott's Antarctic expedition,

The composition and detail are exquisite with the band of white snow/ice creating a perfect frame around the two people and the ship in the distance

Iconic imo

I've lived 6 years on the Scottish Isle of Islay in a lovely cottage 20 metres from the sea. Some days we had views like this one. What more can I say ๐Ÿ˜Š

Every summer I love showing people the glorious Swallowtail (weather permitting!) on my home patch. The weekend tour is full but still a few places on June 9, 10. greenwings.co/our-holidays... I'll also be celebrating World Swallowtail Day June 14 with Norfolk Wildlife Trust (pic by NWT's Liz Dack)
