You're wonderful, in a loathsome sort of way.
MTV is ending some of its music channels in the UK.

In honor of that, what’s your favorite music video?

Taking down the Xmas tree has never exactly been fun. But it's especially hard after a year that saw the passing of friends, family, and heroes. If I'm lucky I'll get 20 or so more Xmas trees. Gotta make them all, and it all, count.

Look at these amateur Reflect Orbital mopes scamming the gullible out of cash for their useless but hazardous "moonlight on demand" satellite fleet.
this is the funniest fucking part i've ever seen in my LIFE

It's your periodic Musk Stupid Prediction Check-in!

Musk, July 2025: "half of the population of the US will be covered by Tesla's Robotaxi by the end of the year".

Actual figure: not even close to 1%, and the "robotaxis" require a human driver.

Watching bsky eagerly buying into an obviously fake note is a good reminder that conspiracy-brain isn't limited to any one set of political beliefs.

Every day I give a small bit of thanks that, as horrible as this administration, its enablers, and bootlickers are, they are not, by and large, blessed with a surplus of competence.

Given how badly wrong Yglesias is on the basics here, imagine how wrong he and other professional opinion-havers are on the myriad other subjects they pretend to be experts in.
This Yglesias piece in the NYT is horrifically bad. Almost every "fact" it cites is provably false. At best it is cocktail party banter from a pundit who knows nothing of energy. At worst, it was cut/paste from oil industry talking points. So, a rebuttal: www.nytimes.com/2025/12/18/o...
Opinion | Obama Supported It. The Left in Canada and Norway Does. Why Don’t Democrats?

Your heroes die <-- I am here
Your friends die

Going forward, I'm only supporting candidates who explicitly vow to expand or otherwise reform this nakedly partisan and corrupt Supreme Court.

I need a word with all you people who said the new Superman movie was, and I quote, "good".

The reality, of course, is that Miller and a significant portion of Trump’s base are the ones who failed to assimilate to America’s post-WWII culture of multi-racial democracy & religious pluralism…and they are now using their power to destroy that once dominant (and still popular) American culture.
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

Chat, is an email referencing "Bob and I's report" valid grounds for reporting somebody to HR for elder abuse?

Elon's "Rosebud" is posting. His deepest desire is for everyone to tell him what a hilarious and clever poster he is. The problem is that he isn't funny. And it kills him.

It explains why he bought Twitter. It's why Grok is the way it is. And it explains . . . whatever the holy hell this is.
Everything about this might be the saddest thing I’ve ever seen

Remember, kids: You can't spell "The Bent Press" without Bret Stephens.
Bret Stephens, making the case for the United States invading Venezuela: "Why hasn’t Greta Thunberg set sail to Caracas with symbolic deliveries of food?"

...No one has ever made Bret Stephens look worse than Bret Stephens. The competition is only ever for second place.

Run through that again, but this time imagine you're a citizen with an Hispanic accent.
My mistake has been trying to explain what "fascism" is to people who don't care what it is.

So I'm going to try something else. Let's do this as a practical thought exercise.

If America *were* fascist *today* - what would you have to do differently in your daily life? /1

Welp judging by the responses here to today's release by the Democrats, as disgusting as it is, it's clear that fever-dream gullible conspiracy theory wishful thinking isn't limited to MAGA.

I recently had to re-join Facebook to help a charitable org. I was taken aback by depressing low-rent torrent of clickbait and scams and spam, like some kind of sleazy digital back alley. I quit again and told the org I'd find another way to stay in contact. So pathetic.
