I think we need to look this truth right in the eye.
Disability justice is a very hard thing to advocate for

Disability will happen to almost everyone, so it’s in their best interest to help

But people are terrified of disability & desperate to believe they’ll be the exception

So they treat us appallingly. They don’t “get it” until it’s their turn

It’s never too late to start masking again.

It’s never too late to clean and ventilate the air.

It’s never too late to push for paid time off, free testing & masks in healthcare.

It’s never too late to say that no one is expendable. Everyone deserves protection & we can beat Covid together

Amen.
I wont return to the disgusting past I was born into with separate doors, bathrooms, tables, water fountains etc for whites and "coloreds"- a Jim Crow world supported by the KKK and Southern Evangelicals.
They had these kind of water fountains in my school.

Lutnick’s “generational factory jobs” pitch is just a reboot of the caste system with better lighting. Your family fixes the robots forever, while someone else’s kids build empires.

No mobility. No exit. It's patriotism in a jumpsuit.
U.S. Secretary of Commerce says the ‘new model’ is factory jobs for life—for you, your kids, and your grandkids
“This is the new model, where you work in these plants for the rest of your life, and your kids work here, and your grandkids work here,” U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick says.

How the Klamath Dams Came Down.

Last year, tribal nations in Oregon and California won a decades-long fight for the largest dam removal in U.S. history.

This is their story.

Bernie is talking to workers rather than hanging out with socialites with mediocre plastic surgery at Mar-a-Lago, and it's just not interesting to corporate media

So ICE has effectively disappeared a student for protesting Israel's genocide, separating him from his 8 month pregnant wife. Pure fascism
UPDATE—Mahmoud's attorney says they do NOT know where he is.
They were first told he was sent to an ICE facility in Elizabeth, NJ. But when his 8-month-pregnant wife tried to visit him, she was told he's not there.
They've received reports he may be sent as far away as Louisiana.

DOGE scrubbed a long-dead contract from its site—the same place it’s been posting phony “receipts” to fake success.

Do they not understand how government works, or are they lying to the public?

My opinion: These aren’t mistakes. They’re trying to dupe us.

I’m gonna disagree. Dems should say: “You know damn well Republicans don’t care about women’s sports. And you know they get arrested every single day for preying on kids. No wonder they make laws where they get to look in your kid’s pants. They wanted to make a child predator Attorney General.” …
Here’s what Democrats should say about trans women and girls playing sports:

“Republicans don’t care about women sports. They just want you to fear young people living their lives freely—so you don’t get angry about their billionaire overlords picking your pockets and controlling everything.”

New York's (de)congestion pricing, which charges $9 to drive into Manhattan below 60 St, has reduced traffic, increased ridership, reduced subway crime, and is raising funds to fix the decaying transit system. Rare for a public policy to have this many benefits!
EXCLUSIVE: New York’s congestion pricing plan raised $48.6M in tolls during its first month, a strong start that exceeded expectations. The revenue figures, expected to be released publicly on Monday by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, are the latest sign that the tolling plan is working.

The only people who aren’t upset about it are the ones not paying attention, and the ones cheering it on.

The ones convinced that the fascists won’t come for them.

This coming from the people who go on and on about freedom and personal responsibility. Especially considering in the U.S., health care is notoriously expensive. Especially with measles outbreaks happening. Why do this to people just trying to avoid illness? The pandemic cooked people's brains.
As more States propose mask bans, I want to take a moment to discuss claims that it’s “fear mongering” to say that masking is illegal.

People claim the medical exemption is “good enough”.

This ignores three critical points. Public perception, anti mask sentiment and rampant ableism

It seems almost unavoidable at this point that we are headed for a deep, deep recession. Just based on 200K+ federal firings & pullback of contracts, the March employment report (to be released April 4) seems certain to show bigger job losses than any month ever outside of a few in 2008-9 and 2020.
