Yesterday, an Executive Order designed to prevent states from regulating AI within their own borders was leaked. If signed, this Executive Order would establish an AI litigation “task force” at the Justice Department to threaten, harass, & sue states that pass any bill deemed “unlawful.”

“Either through complicity or incompetence, Chuck Schumer once again proved he cannot provide the type of leadership that young Americans demand. It is clear he must step down as caucus leader.”

Y'know, it makes perfect sense that Guillermo del Toro and James Cameron were roommates who introduced each other to Patlabor and Battle Angel Alita.

Hormonal contraceptives are in no way perfect, but I have a serious issue with people demonizing the pill lately as if most of the advances and opportunities we have as women nowadays aren’t because of it.

It feels like the “trad wives” who use their freedom to pan feminism 🙄

the fact that people were told “today you are going to an elementary school to lie to teachers and kidnap kids” and didn’t immediately tell their bosses to go fuck themselves is all you need to know about why ICE should be dismantled
BREAKING: Federal agents in plain clothes and unmarked cars tried to snatch 1st graders from LA elementary schools—told staff they had “parental consent.”

They lied. When pressed, they HID THEIR IDS. DHS admits they sent them. This wasn’t a welfare check. It was a test run for a police state.

My unsolicited hot take is that I don’t think it’s coincidental that there’s a lot of discourse about BC being “poison” at the same time that they’re trying to make us have more babies…

The irony is that institutionalizing people with disabilities is often more expensive than giving them the tools to live independently.

Tangentially related, the more I think about it, the more I’m convinced we need universal basic income.

So many of the people behind the AI push fundamentally misunderstand what art is and are hostile toward actual artists.

Some are in the thrall of a techno-cult that preaches the singularity is coming, and those who helped it will be preserved in perpetuity while non-believers are punished. Really.
