Great to see this from Rep DeSaulnier!

Now I want to see this commitment to stop funding ICE from my Rep @repgaramendi.bsky.social, whose district is next to DeSaulnier’s.
I will not vote to give ICE a single penny under its corrupt leadership. ICE is making our communities less safe and when the Homeland Security appropriations bill, which contains ICE funding, comes to the Floor in the coming days, I will be a strong NO vote.

I remember coming across Wikipedia around 2003 and thinking "I should email these people. Their website is editable by anyone and I'm sure it's a mistake"

The nice thing about knowing folk music is it can connect you to people in unexpected ways, even if you don't actually know the full context.

For example, someone says "I was just riding the City of New Orleans"

you say, "Well good morning America!"

or someone says "I was just riding the Wabas

Everyone is always talking about how New York City has everything but apparently there are no restaurants called New Pork, and I would have guessed around 120 of them at least.

28 years after Woodstock, Smashmouth released Walkin' on the Sun.

It has now been 29 years since the release of Walkin' on the Sun.

The best part of the latest trip to Siouxland was finding the painting that my father in law posed for along the banks of the Missouri for a Lewis and Clark recreation.

Also, got a chance to do the Sergeant Floyd Salute (on my Sioux City Commute) a few times, which is always great.

Looking at the MN511 map to check road conditions after the blizzard. End up scrolling into northern Alaska and checking out the lakes by Lake Louise. I love maps. Could be gold up there.

Really baffled by people who purportedly have billions of dollars choosing to spend their time doing anything other than getting deep into the mountains and gold panning.

The holiday vibes of Lake Merritt!
When it is a damp, drizzly December in the soul, Oakland must get just as nigh to Lake Merritt as she possibly can: www.oaklandreviewofbooks.org/oflocks/

I have yet to find significant nuggets with this metal detector, but I sure have found a lot of old metal bits! And a bowie knife which was cool. Found enough slugs in a remote canyon, makes you wonder how many were designated for claim jumpers back in the day.

Re: the witch of the westmoreland.

Am I correct in that the pale knight sleeps with the witch, who is basically a half-horse half lady? Or is there a part where she turns into a full human. Because right now I'm thinking it's about a horse lady in a gown of velvet blue. Powerful horse lady tho

I had an agreement in high school with my buddy where we would ride around town on a tandem and try to pick up ladies, and then whichever one of us was successful got to ride the bike and the lady could hop on but the one who was not successful had to jog alongside the bike.

Fellas, if you're not listening to Stompin' Tom Connors sing "The Bridge Came Tumblin' Down" this morning, you're doing it wrong.

Let's be clear.

Stompin' Tom Connors is better than coffee for mornings.
