I hate to do this but at this point I have very little choice ;;

The Modular Man (1/3) CW: Gore
All my life I had been very lonely. Even when I was in a relationship, there was still an immense, unwavering hunger for intimacy that could not be sated by touch, carnal pleasure, or shared emotions. What I wanted, I thought was impossible: to be truly cared for... every part of me. On a night of particularly bad insomnia, I was joylessly clicking around online, looking for anything. That's when I found it: Antique Restoration Videos. I must have watched a hundred of them. They had awakened something deep inside me... I saw these once-beautiful objects, restored to their former glory. DIsassembled, every component lovingly afforded its own dignity. And I knew that was what I always wanted; to become the Modular Man. I started off small, cutting off my little finger with shears. I gently removed the skin and the muscle. I neatly laid the parts out. And I got to work on the cleaning. It was a success. I was proud of what I had accomplished, but it wasn't enough.

I am very happy to finally be on HRT. Here's a comic I drew for the occasion. I kept repeating this phrase over the course of the last several months.
Alex injects herself with Estrogen from a bottle labelled "Big Vial of E" She says "gone! gone! the form of man." She begins transforming into a yellow skinned femme demon. She says "Rise, the demon..." finally her transformation is complete, she is a demon in a red skintight suit with gay little shorts. She calls herself "Estro-Gan."

This is particularly weird to me, having lived through the Golden Age of Webcomics. It wasn’t even democracy, it was complete anarchy. We made so many comics and some of them were terrible and some were gloriously weird and nobody stopped us. Nobody is stopping anyone now! You can just make a comic!

My cartoon for this week’s Guardian Books
A writer sits in her publisher's office and says: "I've got an idea for a story that examines multiple outcomes for each action." The publisher's three possible replies are depicted: 1. I love it! 2. Hmm. It might work. 3. That sounds terrible. Depending on the publisher's reply, she leaves the room saying: I'll send you a draft in three months. or To hell with you! I'll write it anyway. Both versions lead to an image captioned "Nine years later..." which shows the writer surrounded by notes and drafts, saying "Finished! Finally!" and this leads to images of the writer holding either: 1. a rejection letter 2. a sheaf of polite reviews 3. a Nobel prize And yet, inevitably all the possibilities land with the same image: The writer's gravestone lit by the moon.
