This is a perfectly fine question to ask of Rob Sand or Amy Acton/Tim Ryan. Like cool if you win by an even larger landslide than Harris but not necessary.

I do think the reporter could have gone more after Porter's assertion it will be her vs R, but then again the polling kind of points to that.

I was expecting way worse from the way people were characterizing the clip and also like empirically she does not need to win a single Trump voter. Like is anyone out there asking Marsha Blackburn how she's going to win Harris voters?

I grew up going to Zabar's. So many of my childhood memories center around the best lox in NYC (which is saying something). With Saul Zabar's passing today, the Upper West Side has lost a legend who turned his parent's humble store into a culinary institution.

Another very solid poll for Dems in VA with less than a month to go.

In particular that generic ballot question is REALLY bad for the GOP. Dem +7 would lead to a number of seats flipping.

Pedal to the medal for the last 28 days!

This might just be me, but with respect to the authors efforts, that's one of my least favorite recent political science books. I think it completely misses the fact that there are plenty of political hobbyists who follow it so closely precisely because they believe politics is about power.

Normal person who’s become vice president of the United States, and at a very young age: I’m grateful to this land of opportunity.

JD Vance: I’m resentful that others are seeking opportunities in this country, and I’m going to invent excuses to attack others for lacking gratitude.

It appears that my employer, Dartmouth, one of the Trump 9, has said no to the compact. All the better given that our president is cited within it. But she’s saying no. Count the small victories when they come.
Office of the President
Dear Dartmouth community,

As many of you know, Dartmouth was one of nine universities asked by the White House to give feedback by Oct. 20 on a draft of its “Compact for Academic Excellence in Higher Education.”

I am deeply committed to Dartmouth’s academic mission and values and will always defend our fierce independence.

You have often heard me say that higher education is not perfect and that we can do better. At the same time, we will never compromise our academic freedom and our ability to govern ourselves.

Best,
Sian Leah Beilock
President

Shelters that house unaccompanied minors are bracing for "Freaky Friday," the start of an ICE operation that will first issue letters to children, seeking to pressure them to return to the countries they've fled in exchange for a cash payment. If they decline, their parents will be targeted by ICE.

I genuinely don't get this read on Spanberger's campaign at all. She's likely to enter office with a large trifecta and will get to govern accordingly. Ralph Northam also campaigned on bipartisanship and governed as a solid liberal.

Spanberger seems likely to win. But she will harm every other Democrat in doing so— she harms the Democratic Party brand by associating it in a bipartisan way with Republicans

There's been a lot of confusion about which states could redraw their House maps before the midterms, so we've put together a definitive guide to every state that could actually do so—16 in all.

We explain the likelihood of new maps, probable targeted districts, and any obstacles to passage.
Here's every state that could draw a new congressional map by 2026
Most states can't pass new maps quickly—but those that can favor Republicans

If I had a nickel for every time a Johnson prorogued the lower House to avoid a tough vote, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's still weird it happened twice.
