Only generally aware of Nigel Farage, it’s been shocking to me in the week I’ve been reading UK papers daily how *precisely* Tory & Reform rhetoric echo Trumpism, particularly the full conquest of GOP by MAGA circa 2017-18. Reminder yet again that this fascism is global.

Visiting UK for the fall, where they’re having their own f-word debate. But that’s just the problem: it’s more than a word. Media’s semantic dodge of a concept, fascist, that may be (is) a fact, the acknowledgment of which wld require a paradigm shift in coverage.

One significant - & dangerous - thing to watch for is professional commentators objecting to words rather than examining the evidence. It's pearl-clutching & cowardly, obviously, but also a deliberate attempt to avoid confronting exactly what they themselves are facilitating and often cheering on.

Were I to name the show I'd get swarmed, and persuade nobody. Not worth it. Stepping up to the fight doesn't require flailing in every direction at once. That's a social media sensibility, not a strategy.

Also, we don’t agree with them. When Tucker condemns Israel it’s because he thinks they killed Christ and Kirk, not because he gives a damn about Palestinians, whom he also loathes.

What’s amazing about the faction of the left that feels like Tucker & Co can be useful allies against Israel is that they’re aware of Tucker only because the neocons who trusted him are finding out that gee, turns out fascists really are in it for the fascism.

One of the more incredible stories out of LA this year has been how a taco review blog became the best on-the-ground coverage of ICE raids in the city.

They do a dispatch every day, follow-up on the kidnapped people (which almost no media outlet has done), and fact-check government claims.
