Hey y'all i hate to ask this but I'm about 70 dollars short on a medical bill coming up in about 5 days, and I'm trying to avoid the overdraft fee because i don't get paid again until after that.
Any amount helps, also please share.

On a related note, I saw PLANE for the first time this year and it actually kinda rips. The Butler heads might be onto something.
I was in a full theater and the trailer for that action flick PLANE played before the movie. Everyone sat in stoic silence during its violent duration, and when it ended with a slow fade-in of the innocuous title an old man let out a singular “Ha!” that unleashed awkward laughter from everyone else.
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.

It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

So with this Disney/Sora/OpenAI news, who’s gonna be the first to generate an animated version of the Zootopia abortion comic?

This feels like breaking a seal. If ai-gen fan videos gain significant purchase inside Disney+, it opens the flood gates on other platforms and suddenly streamers are overrun by slop to the point they’re basically a TikTok feed. Further encouraging them to dump real entertainment for cheap slop.

They could’ve bankrupted OpenAI in lawsuits. Instead, they’re adopting OpenAI APIs and giving them a billion dollars.

BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY. You can’t be that revisionist *and* boring at the same time – not to mention incredibly homophobic/biphobic *AND* simply poorly constructed, to boot.
Never mind movies you’ve watched multiple times, name a movie you’ve watched once and would never watch again.

What’s more embarrassing: that it took me until my 30s to really understand how to play solitaire, or that it’s now become my new fixation?

I remember seeing this way back in my early days of undergrad at my college’s student union movie theater, and being young and dumb I didn’t recognize Watkins’ whole fake-doc conceit at the time (which is genius btw) and walking out of the screening sick to my stomach and absolutely mortified.

We have created a device that shall be integral to your life, to the point where it will be hard to function in society without one; we would prefer these devices to break annually and for you to purchase a new one at full price. If you don't, that's called hoarding. They're a thousand dollars each.
stupid young people, stop buying a new phone every year if you don't want to be broke. wait no, not like that.

RIP Udo Kier. I’m still very much behind on his filmography, but he was undeniably an icon of sorts. 2021’s SWAN SONG really awakened me to his greatness.
A review of Swan Song (2021)
“I wouldn’t even know how to be gay anymore.” Undeniably fun and not without its moments of classic gay camp, but the emotional depth is what makes Swan Song shine. Stephens' film is an incredibly res...

One of the fundamental "magic of the internet" moments I've always cherished is finding a tiny creator who demonstrates surprising talent. A cool song with barely any views, a great new artist with a dozen followers, etc.

The thrill is gone, replaced by doubt for "unverified" art thanks to genAI.
Why am I so against generative AI in games?

Because I simply do not want my initial reaction to art to be one of suspicion and scrutiny, AI slop is fundamentally damaging my relationship to art and artistry, and I am deeply resentful that it is forcing me to be guarded when I should be wowed.
