I’ve seen some folks imply that Schumer should remain Dem leader if Dems take back the senate this year. That’s a mistake.

Yes, he’s had some victories for recruitment with S tier candidates like Peltola, Cooper, and Brown. But the job of senate leader goes way beyond candidate recruitment

You can tell Craig doesn’t know ball because she added a whole condition to her denial of funding for ice
Angie Craig tells me on ICE funding, “I won't vote for a penny of funding for ICE until they stop terrorizing Minnesotans.”

call me an alarmist, but as the colorado legislature starts their business for the next six or so months, i feel like our lawmakers should be considering this abysmal winter when deciding what policy to prioritize
Welp, it's officially Colorado's worst season-to-date snowpack on record. Just a smidge below 1990, 2000, 2013, 2018 levels.

Records only date to 1987, but still worst snowpack in ~40 years of data with little relief in sight = no bueno.

Wow: Mary Peltola announces she's running for Senate in Alaska — as a Dem, of course.

Peltola looked to be deciding between a run for governor, where she looked like she'd almost be favored, and a tough race for Senate against Republican incumbent Sullivan.

Telling of Dems' mood she chose latter.

I really wish left-leaning voters would learn from the mistakes of electing so-called moderates like Youngkin and Susan Collins

No matter how common sense they claim to be while courting your votes, at the end of the day, they’re standing with the far right.

This bill passed unanimously, but now that Trump’s decided he has a vendetta, the fascist mob closes ranks to deny benefits primarily to Trump voters in Boebert’s district. Go figure
The veto override has failed. Several dozen Republicans defied President Trump, but not enough to reach the 2/3 needed for an override. Colorado’s Arkansas Valley Conduit project is in limbo.

Abolishing ICE is the moderate position for the next democratic president

Trump Reveals He Gave US Oil Companies a Heads Up ‘Before and After’ Maduro Raid

The legacy media has completely abdicated its responsibility
NEWS

The New York Times and The Washington Post learned of the Maduro operation just before it was set to begin but didn’t publish, due to longstanding newsroom policies against putting U.S. personnel in danger.

Our average high is in the mid-40s. Unreal.

Trump is illegally invading Venezuela for regime change and oil extraction, and democratic leadership is entirely rudderless

We’ve seen some quality responses from democrats, but Schumer unsurprisingly continues to miss the mark
NEW: Schumer rules out using a government shutdown as leverage on Venezuela in his press call.

"January 30 is days away," he said. "Let's first get all the facts out. That's what we're endeavoring to do right now, and our first ability to do that will be the War Powers Act of this week."

I get it’s not even 2026 yet, but at what point will it become reasonable to complain about no public polling in CO’s primaries yet?

Absolutely NEED #’s btwn Hick/Gonzales, DeGette/Kiros/James, and Weiser/Bennet

Early GE polling in all congressional districts too if we’re being generous

The number of state lawmakers who will serve at the Colorado Capitol next year who at some point were appointed to the House or Senate by or through a vacancy committee has grown to 27. That’s more than 1 in 4 members of the General Assembly.

Lindstedt will be a fantastic addition to the state senate

That said, I sincerely cannot understand why democrats at the capital would prefer the inside track vacancy committees offer when it leaves such a sour taste in the mouth of voters

There wouldn’t be so many leftwing challengers if the establishment wing of the party weren’t completely dropping the ball in fighting against Trump’s premier goal of turning the United States into his fascist hellscape

Fight or fold. If you fold, you have no place in elected office as a Democrat

Obligatory I-like-Joe-Biden, but it’s insane that the Biden admin was outflanked on rescheduling marijuana. This is a move that should’ve been made in 2021
New: President Trump signed an executive order Thursday that would reclassify marijuana as a less dangerous drug and open new avenues for medical research, a major shift in federal drug policy that inches closer to what many states have done.
